Abby woke up in the middle of a field “I I am actually back n bible times?” she asked herself while looking around.  “Yes, you are at the time of Jesus birth” Abby Heard Gabriel from behind her.

She nodded in understanding then she noticed her outfit. She was wearing a long dress with a head cover to help block he wind and sun during the day. She was also wearing sandals not like the ones from her time, she had a sense of fear due to being back in time who could say this however she knew she had to trust God.

Abby saw a small town ahead and she knew it was Bethlehem the city of David. “Come little one you have much to see.” Gabriel led her to the city she did not say much since no one could see the angel with her.

Soon Abby saw a couple the girl was on the donkey and from her pained expression she was about to have a baby. This was Mary and joseph the soon to be parents of Jesus. “Excuse me let me help.” She called as joseph was helping Mary down.

“Thank you I am joseph, and this is Mary” he replied after Abby helped them, she was surprised that she was hearing English instead of Aramaic

“My name is Abby” she introduced herself.  “Where are your parents?” Mary asked kindly. “They are home I am on my way to visit them.” Abby answered as they looked for an inn to stay inn for the night.
They soon came to an inn only to find out that there was no room due to the census taking place. “But sir she is about to have a baby” Abby protested

“There is a stable out back you can use its not much but it’s all I have.” The man said. “Thank you” Abby said she went and told joseph what the man had said.

“That will do Mary needs to rest we have had a long trip” joseph said leading the donkey u to the stable. Later that evening Abby heard Mary cry out in pain. She ran to the entrance from where she was siting only to meet joseph just outside.

“What’s going on is Mary ok” Abby spoke in panic. “She is ok please go get us some water.” She did not need to be told twice she took the bucket and ran back to the town thankfully it was not far from where they were staying. “This is amazing I am about to witness the birth of Jesus the savior of the world” she said to herself she then noticed roman soldiers she had seen them earlier when joseph explained that Rome controlled the area and Israel itself.

She stoped and overheard that they were on orders from the king it was then that she remembered what happens in the story. King Herod had heard about the king of the Jews being born and sent his men to kill any child under the age of two so no one would oppose his rule.

However, Abby was no afraid because she knew how the story ends. She went to get the water from the well I was heavy, and she almost dropped it back into the well if it was not for Gabriel helping her.

“Gabriel” Abby squeaked nearly dropping the water jug. “My apologies for starting you it looked like you needed help. She smiled “yes thank you” she told him. After getting the water she started her way back to Mary and Joseph while walking she was still having doubts the tried to shake off the feelings, but they seemed to stay. Abby was thankful that she was able to help and witness these events.

She saw some sheep and some shepherds in the field near by suddenly there was a bright light as they all saw an angel Abby looked on in shock as he announced the birth of Jesus and the angel said to them,

“Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.“

Then her and the shepherds heard a lot of angels saying “Glory to God in the highest peace and goodwill to men.” After the angels had left Abby took her jug and hurried back to the stable. She slowed to a walk and meet joseph “Thank you Abby this will help” he said going back in while she stayed outside.

After a few minutes she heard a baby’s cry Jesus the son of God had been born.
Abby went in to the stable to find Mary, Joseph and in the manger wrapped in swaddling cloths was baby Jesus. The shepherds marveled at the sight they told Mary what was told to them about the baby and she remember this from that moment on.

“This has been the most amazing night “Abby said after giving out the water. Mary worn out from the events slimed at her.

“Thank you for your help, Abby you can stay here with us since the inn is full” she was stunned for a second before replying.” Thank you very much.” Abby was nervous about something so she gathered her courage and asked Mary.

“May I hold him please?" She asked. Mary smiled at her.
“Yes, you may" she replied. She had Abby sit down and gently laid the baby in her arms. He looked up at Abby and giggled.

She had tears in her eyes. She wanted to say something but the words were stuck she was in awe that she was holding the son of God.

After Abby put him back in the manger, they all settled in for the night. She prayed to God thanking him for this encounter. As she fell asleep Gabriel was just outside the stable watching Abby and the family, he looked at her then to the sky. “Rest well Abby for your journey is only beginning.”
