Walking down the narrow hall way, Zoila felt her shoulders slowly began to relax in Rainer's hold. Even though within her it felt wrong being in the arms of another that wasn't her mate. She felt completely and utterly safe in his hold. The silence lingering between them gave her a piece of mind, brought her mind and thoughts away from the danger lingering beyond the forcefield, a danger she sent her entire life trying to escape.
"I hope I'm not over stopping any boundary" he asked in a whisper, a soft chuckle leaving his lips. A sigh brushed past her thin lips, a shadow of a smile gracing her lips as she gazed up at the one person who made her feel comfortable and safe. "I mean, I don't know much about it, but I'm sure mate's are very protective of what's theirs" he joked, resting his hand on the handle leading to one of the many guestrooms.
"No.... I have no mate" she smiled, gazing up at him. "I haven't found him yet, not sure if I ever will" her smile flickered, but to the look in his eyes made her smile brighten. It was a look she hadn't seen in a while, a look she missed everyday.
"I think you will, and whoever he is he's a lucky guy" he smiled, pushing the door open to reveal the medium size guestroom. She gazed up in awe, the velvet room had a vanity sitting by the balcony window that was shielded by the silk white curtains. A flat screen tv hanging on the wall across from a king size bed with sponge headboard lingering under a random photo frame. To the left and right of the bed, was two white doors. "This is you" Rainer announced leading her to the bed. Her hand slowly reached out, running over the soft duvet cover.
"This is so soft" she mused, staring at the bed in awe. Rainer gazed at her in confusion.
"You don't have sheets where your from" he asked, she simple shook her head, releasing herself from his hold collapsing on the soft duvet. He couldn't help but smile as she dozed off. Turning on his heel, he left the room, switching the lights off before closing the door behind him. The smile not once leaving his lips. Walking down the hall with his hands securely in his pants pocket, jogging down the stairs towards the kitchen.
"Did you see that ratchet thing they brought here" one of the female pack members scoffed, biting into her chocolate bar. Her friend's sat beside her chuckling, their back faced Rainer giving them no knowledge of his presences, "Her smell alone was deadly". Hearing this made Rainer livid.
"I feel bad for beta Jackson and alpha Rainer they had to endure the stench of that thing" one of the girls stated, rolling her eyes.
"Knowing alpha Jones that things probably already dead" the first girl chuckled. His hands where meters away from the girls neck when a hand caught his shoulder, stopping him. Pamela appeared beside him, shaking her head.
"Ladies, leave the room" she commanded, causing the girls to jump in freight. "Now" her voice was calm, but it still held authority.
"Yes alpha" they said, scribbling to they're feet and scurried of the kitchen. The first girl, smiling at Rainer on her way out.
"Why did you do that" he hissed, turning to face his twin sister with a glare. The blank expression on her face finally soften as she turned to face him.
"You were about to do something stupid again Rain, I'm your sister, I shouldn't be stopping you from trying kill a pack member for an outsider, I can't always protect you" she told him, her head tilting to the side slightly, her hand resting on his cheek.
"I don't need you protecting me, I'm a big boy I can take care of my self" he huffed, slapping her hand away. Walking over to one of the cabinets, pulling one tray from the shelves along with a bowl and mug. She sighed, gazing out the window. Seeing the girls from earlier made her take a deep breathe.
"Mother and father put me in charge-"
"Of the pack, not me" he interrupted, slamming his fist against the marble counter top. This caught her by surprise, gazing up at her older brother. Her gaze holding sympathy as she turned away from him.
"I'm just trying to-"
"I don't need your help Pamela. Stop sticking your nose into my life, and start paying attention to your own, maybe if you did Emily would still be-" his hands flew to his lips in an instant. The tension in the room became thick as Pamela clutched her fist. Her body shaking with anger. "Pamii I'm sorry, I did-" before he could apologize her fist came in contact with his right cheek.
"Pamela Adora Jones" a man's voice boomed. Rainer heaved a breathe of relief, slowly backing away from her shaking body that was being pulled into a warm embrace. "I got you Pamii" the voice cooed, rocking her back and forth.
"Pamii, I'm sor-"
"Leave Rain" the person warned, not once gazing back at him. Picking up the tray of fruits he had prepared for Zoila, and left the kitchen. "Calm down Pamii"
"How dare he, how dare he blames me for what happened to her" she snapped, tears rolling down her cheeks. "how dare he!!!" she hissed, burying her face in his broad chest.
"It wasn't your fault, Pamii, it wasn't anyone's fault" he shushed, running his hand up and down her back. Footsteps could be heard coming in their direction.
"Alpha Jones, Head master and madam Meredith is here to see you" Gemma Jenna announced. Pamela wiped her tears, turning to face everyone her face was void of all emotions. There was no sign of what had happened. The guy standing by her side smiled, it was no secret that he had a crush on her since childhood.
"Alpha Jones" Rita greeted, glancing over at the young man standing by Pamela's side, she bowed slightly. "Kenzie"
"Prince" he simply responded.
"Cut the introductions, where is the girl" madam Meredith scoffed, making her presence knew.
"Let's talk in my office" Pamela said, glaring daggers at lady Meredith whom returned her glare.
