With his heels clicking against the marble tile, for some reason, he had a bad feeling about what was to come. Elijah tugged on his tie, wanting to loosen the hold it had around his neck. But he knew he couldn't.
"Are you ready?" Pamela asked as he approached. Dressed in a simple blue pants suit with her jet-black hair pulled into a low ponytail. Elijah chuckled nervously, shaking his head.
"I really don't want to be here," he chuckled, looking at the double door in anticipation. Behind that door held a discussion that he didn't want to have. A reality he didn't want to be true. He knew there was no way out of the situation. But a guy could only hope.
"I can see that," she simply replied with a slight nod. "Just be calm. The moment they sense fear, they'll chew you up and spit you out," She stated calmly, not helping the situation. Elijah released a shaky breath.
"Not helping," he hissed, she chuckled softly, shaking her head.
"You'll be fine," she said, patting his shoulder. He simply nods, his unbeaten heart dropping as the doors slide open. Revealing his nightmare, as they stepped into the crowded room, filled with all kinds of supernatural beings. The room was a simple cream texture with a dark brown desk and chair lined off around the room as any other presidential board room would be set. Council members silently took their seats as they entered. Rita is standing at the very top of the Council chairs.
"Council," they said in unison, bowing in respect to the higher rank and elders that sat before them.
"This meeting was called to address the matters that have been taking place in our small town," Rita began. Silent murmurs flooded the room as the Council began to whisper among themselves. "Silence," Rita simply mumbled, the room went drop-pin silent. "Alpha Pamela, your finds?" Gesturing towards Pamela to begin as she gracefully took her seat.
"Thank you, headmaster, as most of you may are may not know, there has been a breach from the outside, an outlaw by the name of Zoila has crossed over the threshold and is currently residing on my pack land" Pamela exclaimed, silent murmurs flooded the room once more.
"Silence," Rita mumbled. The room went silent once more, and Rita simply nodded, giving her the go-ahead to continue.
"I had gone ahead and taken a few precautions involving her residence here. I can confirm that she is somewhat harmless. "
"Somewhat harmless?" an elder asked. Drawing attention to this. Once again, the room was flooded with Council members silently whispering their concerns.
"Upon further investigation on the girl, I've come to see her powers. She has the power to manipulate the wind, she's a kitsune. " Gasp filled the room, and Rita's eyes widened in shock.
"That's impossible, kitsunes haven't been seen in years," an elder stated, earning a few nods.
"I can assure you that my findings are indeed accurate," Pamela confirmed.
"This can't be true. Surely there is an explanation for this," council member Joanna stated in disbelief. Silent murmurs echoed through the room as they discussed among themselves.
"The question to be asked in this situation is the type of kitsune that she is, it's not as if we don't know a few kitsune's within the border," Lady Penny asked, taking a stand to let her voice be heard since she was soft-spoken type in the council, she was mostly looked over in such cases. A few members nod and hummed in response to this.
"Lady Penny is correct. There are a few here, those few belonging to only two families. The Kenzie family and the Prince family." Lord Fredric stated, gesturing toward Duran Kenzie and then at the headmaster before turning back to Pamela with a straight face. "What power does she possess?"
"Wind," Pamela simply stated, everyone, shared a look of confusion. Not daring to say a word on the matter. The wind element was always an old folks tale no one ever believed that there was a chance that it might be real. Even in a town filled with myths and supernatural, there were creatures that were just made up to teach children a lesson and to behave.
"Wind kitsunes are myths just like mermaids, just like the great white shark, just like the dragons, there is no proof of their existence for millennia, so what makes you think that we'll believe any of this" Lord Fredric pointed out in a firm tone, every council member nods in agreement at his statements.
"I wasn't expecting you to, that would be too easy that's why I brought her with me, she is currently waiting outside for me, I had mind-linked Jackson to bring her in a while ago she should be here soon," Pamela said, earning a slight nod from Rita.
"While we wait, Elijah can update us on the situation in the caverns," Ria stated, gesturing toward a very nervous Elijah. Taking a deep breath, Elijah began.
"So far, everything in the cavern is good," he said nervously. Rita simply smiled. She could tell he was nervous.
"Don't be nervous, okay, I know it's your first time being in a council meeting, just be calm and state the issue, so no pressure," Rita assured him, he simply nods releasing a calming breath. "You said over the phone that Klaus has mentioned something that concerns you. Could you elaborate?"
"I think I'd rather tell you in private," he stated. The uneasy look on his face made her nod in understanding.
"As you wish," she said with a slight nod. The double door to the meet hall was pulled open, revealing Pamela's beta Jackson, and a girl with silver curls pulled into a high ponytail showing off her piercing baby blue eyes and pale skin. Her thin, pink lips and puffy cheeks made her a beauty to look at. Rita stared at her in shock. She looked so much like someone she knew. The energy surrounding her was overwhelming and powerful, just like someone she knew. But why, though, why did it feel like she knew her? That this girl was more than just an outlander. There was something about her that sparked something in Rita.
"Do it," Pamela told her, Zoila simply nodded. Holding her hands midair before her summoning her powers. A small world pool slowly began to form, and everyone gasped at the site of her powers. Silent murmurs filled the room, everyone in shock and disbelief at the sight before them.
"My office," Rita stated nonchalantly, rising from her chair. "All three of you," leaving everyone speechless.
