The Upcoming Race

One week after arriving at Axel City, a big race of the year is about to happen at the Monster Dome

One day before the race, Blaze's garage

"Here we go, focus, speed, I am speed."

"One winner, forty two losers, I eat losers for breakfast."

"Faster than fast, quicker than quick, I am Lightning."

"Hey, wake up." a male voice said

Lightning woke up, only to be greeted by Blaze.

"Uhh Blaze, what are you doing here?"

"I woke up and I heard you talking in your sleep, so I got up and went to listen to what you were saying and I wanted to wake you up."

"Oh no! It the race isn't about to start, is it?!"

"Lightning calm down, the race isn't until tomorrow."

"Oh thank goodness, I thought I was going to be late."

"Nah, I would never make my friends late! I always wake them when a race is about to start."

"Well that's nice of you, Blaze."

"Hehe, thank you, it's my thing, I always love to see my friends happy and cheerful."

Lightning smiles at this.

"Oh, and speaking about the race,  I have to call my sponsor and let them know I'm going to participate in this upcoming race."

"Oh, okay! Do you want me to leave, or would you like me to stay?"

"You can stay if you would like to, Blaze."

"Okay. May I ask, who is your sponsor?"

"Rusteze is the name of my sponsor."

"Who runs rusteze?"

"Tex Dinoco, he's the best sponsor a race car could ever ask for."

"Hmm, sounds interesting. May I meet him?"

"Sure!"

Lightning calls Tex on Blaze's computer

"Hey Lightning, nice to see you!"

"Nice to see you too, Tex!"

"Who's your friend behind you?"

"Oh, that's Blaze. He is a very nice monster truck."

"Hello, Mr.. Tex!" Said Blaze

"Hello Blaze! Lightning, one question, why are you calling me?"

"About that, I offered to participate in an upcoming race."

"Oh, cool! Lightning I also need to tell you something." Tex started to frown while saying that.

"What is it, Tex?"

"I will tell you it when I arrive there because I need to speak to you about this in private."

"Okay Tex! See you later!"

"See ya Lightning."

the call ends

"That Tex guy seems nice."

"Oh, he is! He is the best sponsor a racer could ever ask for!"

"Hehe, I can tell, you've said that two times."

"Yeah, I'm just really excited, extremely excited.

"I can tell." Blaze says with a chuckle

"I'm so glad to have you as my friend, Blaze."

"I'm glad too."

A few minutes later, Darrington woke up and headed straight to Blaze's garage and Darrington knocks on  Blaze's garage door.

"Blaze, are you in there?"

"Yes, Darrington. Come in."

Darrington opens the garage door

"Hey Blaze! Hey Lightning! How are you both doing today?"

"We're doing good." Blaze and McQueen said at the same time. "How are you doing today, Darrington?"

"Oh man! Im doing great! I just woke up and I'm ready for the race!"

"Uhh, Darrington?

"Yeah?"

"The race is tomorrow."

"Oh, silly me! I just woke up, so forgive me if my brain gets a bit preoccupied."

"It's okay, Darrington. We all make mistakes."

"Yeah."

"I want to ask you something, Blaze."

"Sure, what is it?"

"Is it true that Lightning McQueen will be joining the big race tomorrow?"

"Yes. Is that a problem?" Lightning said

"No, I just wanted to wish you luck in the race, Lightning."

"Oh, Thank you."

"You're welcome." Darrington replied with an adorable smile that grew slowly larger

"See you around, Blaze and Lightning."

"See you!" Blaze and McQueen said at the same time.

Darrington closes Blaze's garage door and drives away.

Everyone else wished Lightning luck at the race and Lightning thanked all of them.

"Hey Lightning, would you like to do something I have in mind?"

"What do you have in mind?"

"Let's take a drive!"

"That sounds like a good idea, Blaze!"

"Thanks, I try."

Blaze and McQueen exit their garage and exit the Monster Dome. After their drive, they went to sleep and planned on going for another drive before the race tomorrow.

The next day, Blaze and McQueen took a drive down the street and they were having a good time.

About 20 minutes later, Tex calls Lightning and tells Lightning that he will be waiting at the Monster Dome for their private conversation. After Blaze and McQueen were done driving down the street, McQueen started to approach Blaze's garage and opens Blaze's garage door and meets up with his one and only sponsor.
