"I want to stay in Axel City." The Radiator Springs gang sighed in sadness at Lightning's reply.

"Lightning, don't you wanna come back with us?" Sally begged.

"I'm sorry Sal, but I can't leave this city, these guys need me."

sigh "if you say so, Lightning. Come on everyone, we're going back to Radiator Springs.."

"Wait!" Lightning shouted.

"yes, Lightning?"

"You know, you don't have to go back to Radiator Springs."

Blaze was starting to make a smile with Lightning's words.

"You can live with us!" Everyone said at the same time.

Sally and the others felt pleased at the offer.

"We would love to live here." Sally said with happiness

Even Lightning felt proud they could live in Axel City.

"Hold on folks, it appears, Lightning McQueen has some more company with him!"
The host of the race says as the camera focuses on Lightning and the rest of the RS and AX's gang's conversation. Now, their conversation can be heard by the entire crowd.

"Would you like to stay with us, Sally?"

"Lightning and the rest of you.."

"Yes Sally?"

"We would love to live here with you guys." The entire crowd went wild.

"Lightning.." Mater said as he was approaching Lightning.

"Yes Mater?"

"I'm.. sorry for accusing you.."

Lightning smiled at Mater's apology.

"Thank you.. Mater.. you have no idea how much I needed to hear that.."

"You're welcome buddy. You've been through a lot, and we wanted to apologize to you for all the bad things we've done to you. We're sorry for putting you through this pain. I know what you're feeling, and I can see you have a new best friend.." Mater was referring to Blaze.

Lightning doesn't know what to choose now. Does he become best friends with both Blaze and Mater? Does he not be best friends with Blaze anymore? All of these questions were being debunked in his head.

Lightning's mind: "Do I stop being best friends with Blaze?"

"If you stop being friends with Blaze, you will hurt his feelings, his friends will not like this and kick you out of Axel City!"

"Should I become best friends with Mater again?"

"You should become best friends with Mater again, Mater truly means his apology, and you will have two best friends! Simple as that. All you have to do is become best friends again with Mater."

"Yeah, I think you're right."

No longer in Lightning's mind:

"Mater, I wanna be best friends with you again."

"Lightning, I would love to be your best friend again." Everyone started cheering.

"Mater, and the rest of you?"

"Yes Lightning?" Sally asked Lightning with the others also wanting to ask this.

"I want to ask you this,"

"Yes.. go on.." Sally said as she pleaded Lightning to continue his sentence.

"What will happened to Radiator Springs if you abandoned it?" Lightning asked with worry.

Sally started to get worried at the thought of Radiator Springs getting abandoned.

"Lightning.." Sally started.

"Yeah, Sally?"

"I think we should head back to Radiator Springs.."

"Oh.. okay then.." Lightning said sadly.

"Are you going to come with us, Lightning?"

Lightning took a few seconds before answering.

"Sally.."

"Yes Lightning?"

"I.. still want to stay here.. at Axel City."

"Are you sure Lightning..?"

"Yes.. I'm sure.. I can still visit you guys when I feel like it!"

Sally started to form a smile.

"Really..?"

"Yes Sally."

Sally's smile started to grow more at Lightning's answer.

"Sally.."

"Yes, Lightning?"

"I will see you soon."

"Okay Lightning.. Bye.."

"Bye Sally.."

Sally and the others were just about to exit the Monster Dome until..

"Wait!"

The townies turned around to face Lightning.

"Before you go, I want to talk to Mater"

"Yes Lightning?" Mater said as he got closer to Lightning.

"Would you like to.. perhaps.. maybe.." Lightning couldn't finish his sentence because of his sudden nervousness.

"Yes Lightning?" Mater asked again.

"Would you like to.. stay at Axel City with us?"

"Lightning?"

"Yes Mater..?"

"I would love to stay here in Axel City, as long as you're here!"

Lightning smiled at this, his now two best friends staying at his side.

"Mater..?"

"Yeah, Lightning?"

"Thank you.. for accepting my offer to stay here with me.."

"No problem buddy. After all, I am your best friend."

"Hey! Don't forget about me!" Blaze called to Lightning and Mater in a playful way.

Lightning laughed at this.

"I won't forget about you, Blaze! You two are by best friends ever!"

"Mater!" Sally shouted Mater's name.

"Yes, Sally?"

"You can't stay here.. we need you.."

"But I want to spend time with my best friend!" Mater replied sadly.

"I'm sorry Mater, but we can't leave without you!"
Mater sighed.
