The flesh wants a lot of things. Same way, the spirit wants them too. There comes a time in one's life when we are given the opportunity to choose what we want and don't want.

For you to live without stress, you have to let the flesh die. Galatians 2:20 says, "I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me."

Letting the flesh die is the only way you can be able to survive here on earth. Talking about the flesh dieing does not mean killing yourself. Rather, it means letting the flesh die to the pleasures it gives which could lead into sin and allowing the spirit have dominion over the flesh not the other way round.

"Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that [f]comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever]." Romans 8:6

*Whenever you want to pray and  you feel reluctant, you keep hearing that voice saying, "why not rest, you've been working since morning and now you just got back from work. God understands. He knows you are tired. At least, you prayed in the morning." That is an easy tactic the devil uses on us believers. Know this, the flesh will never want you to pray. Rather, it will want you to watch the movies you've been hearing is in vogue. From there, the battle begins and it takes place in the mind. That's why it's said that, "The mind is a battle ground." It's left for you to choose what you want.

*The flesh would never want you to be happy seeing your neighbor, family member, or friend progress. For example, in school, your friend happens to be the most intelligent in class and always comes out in flying colours while there's nothing to write home about you. What do you do? Rejoice with him or her. When you rejoice with them, it will be well with you also and therefore, you're doing what the spirit wants (i.e the spirit of God in you).

Another example, your neighbor gives birth to triplets and you are jealous. That's another work of the flesh. Never be jealous of what your neighbor has but rejoice and celebrate them with an open heart. By so doing, you're opening your own doors of breakthrough and blessings.

*The flesh would never want you to fast. There are different kinds of fasting. There's fasting of the word (God's word), fasting to spend time with God without food and sometimes without water, fasting to hear from God thereby shutting yourself out from any form of distraction whatsoever, etc...
Whenever you feel like fasting without food, that is when temptation comes up. Delicious aromas of food is being perceived with your nose and you start salivating.

Watch out!

That's a trick of the flesh to prevent you from fasting. If possible stay far away from the kitchen. It is said that, "when you know the source of your temptation, try by all means possible to stay away from it."
Fasting builds up the spirit and not the flesh. If you're fasting and not studying God's word, praying, meditating to hear God speak, then you're on hunger strike! Nothing else!

*The flesh never wants you to give. Giving is good however, it doesn't mean you've got to start giving uncontrollably. There has to be a leading in your spirit and peace in your heart when giving. The Bible says in Luke 6:38, "Give, and [gifts] will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will they pour [ad]into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of your robe and used as a bag]. For with the measure you deal out [with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others], it will be measured back to you." AMP.
When you give to people, you're not just doing it for yourself. You're doing it as unto the Lord who gave you the power to make wealth. Deuteronomy 8:18a, "But you shall [earnestly] remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth...."

*The flesh never wants you to live a stress free life. Keeping malice, unforgiveness, anger, etc. All these if kept in the heart can lead to different kinds of illness, prevent one from receiving answers to prayers and God's blessings. The spirit of God present in our lives wants us to live according to what is written in the Bible. This way life would be way more easier and the world would be a better place for all.
