"Gregory! What did you do? I think you fixed my signal. Thank you." We hear Freddy's voice echo across the room as his face appears on the monitors. "We can see you on the monitors. I didn't think you could stand up." "Consider it a second wind." Gregory looks a bit panicked as he looks at the cameras. "Wait! I can see Roxy and Monty on the cameras, they're approaching the office!" Freddy remains a calm anchor for Gregory. "Do not let them in. The doors are equipped with electric deterrents. If you see them banging on the doors press the appropriate button. It will stun them." "Okay, but how do I get out of here?" "Do you see that large vent on the floor? You are probably standing on top of it. Lyle's endo is not strong enough to break it so you'll have to wait for me. The place seems to be on total lockdown... hm. Look for me on the monitors. If you see me waving, press the appropriate button to open the door. Lyle can help you."
"Alright, Lyle. Uh, you help Freddy get to the vent. I'll keep the other animatronics out." Gregory says running to a nearby door and giving Monty a hearty shock. "Y-you, got it, Gregory." I scramble around the monitors, the myriad of buttons confusing. Luckily I don't have to care about them, just pressing the very obvious door buttons. I don't know what is up with this place and doors though, as it takes an awkward amount of time to get Freddy over here. Fortunately, because teamwork makes the dream work, Freddy gets over here with ample power to spare. I heard some giggling while I was watching Freddy though. I'm at least a little sure that Gregory chose to be on door duty so he could watch the animatronics get hurt.
The vent makes a clattering noise as Freddy breaks it off its connections. "Jump down!" Gregory hops in first. "Freddy! You saved us." I look down at the drop, a little less recklessly than Gregory. I don't think my endos could support that fall. "Don't worry Lyle. I'll catch you." I look at Freddy hesitantly, before getting a look at Gregory's hurt face. Just another time I'm not being brave. "Y-yeah, sorry." I jump down and, true to his word, Freddy catches me. Feels nice actually.
"Sorry Freddy, I couldn't find any lift controls. Just this stupid disk." Freddy gets a look at the disc Gregory takes out. "That is a program disc. If you go to the atrium it should activate a showtime protocol from the Soundbooth. After the end of it, the lift should lower." Now that we are standing still, I can see in full view how... twitchy Freddy is. He does not look okay, and he probably doesn't have the thing that keeps me operating. I don't say anything though, because Freddy doesn't need to hear it. Freddy starts leading us down this awkwardly long tunnel that has quite a bit of turns for some reason. It eventually opens up towards the stage.
"M-m-my systems are f-failing me. G-go to the S-Soundbooth on the th-third floor and run the p-protocol on that disc. Y-you do not have m-much time. It is almost the end of the h-hour. I w-will wait here." I pick Gregory back up onto my shoulders as we make our way to the Soundbooth. Gregory's grip on my ears was tighter than normal. He is definitely anxious. I can understand why though. Freddy must seem like a really important guy to him.
We make our way up to the second floor where we discover something of note. There's an odd amount of security barriers. Why would there be so many? I'm starting to believe that someone is out to get Gregory. Because this is overkill for a lost child. Is it Vanessa? Gregory did say she was out to get him... but I don't think she was the type to do that. There's no point speculating with the minimal amount of facts that I have, however.
Gregory quickly ducks down as we run into Chica. "Hey Lyle, you must've been really upset with the kid. I don't think I've ever seen you away from your den for so long." I quickly grow flustered in my mind after getting put on the spot like this. "W-well, I would like an a-apology, but w-we need to find him s-so we can get him h-home." Chica looks at me funny. "Right. "Home."" She gives me a playful smack on the shoulder, awfully close to where Gregory is. "Well, I shouldn't hold either of us up for long. We've got a kid to catch." "R-right." As she turns to walk away and Gregory slowly gets out of hiding, she quickly turns around. "Actually, do you want my help getting to parts and services? You are pretty beat up." She quickly walks back up to me. "U-u-uh." She quickly grabs my forearm and starts leading me to who knows where. "C'mon! Don't be shy. This'll be an excellent opportunity to get to know each other!" Gregory quickly hops off my back knowing that if he stays on he'll likely get caught. I give him a quick look and try to mouth 'sorry', but I don't know if he'd caught it or not.
I'm led out of the big doors by Chica as I have to leave Gregory behind. It makes my stomach feel bad. I feel like I've let him down and more... As the doors to the atrium close Chica quickly drags me over to a wall and pins me against it. "Okay Lyle, I might've lied a little bit. Why are you hiding the kid?!" I look at Chica, stunned a little. "W-well, th-they're just a kid." Chica moves her face closer to mine. "Lyle, is something wrong with your programming? Vanessa told us to give any lost kids to her pronto." "C-chica. He's l-lost and afraid. I-i can't just give him to V-Vanessa. She scares h-him." Chica looks at me for an awkward amount of time. "Y-your not following your code Lyle." She says in a much darker tone than before. It's the same voice but it's as if a different person is talking. "It's time to get you fixed." She grabs me again, with her endos superior strength I have to accept it too. She takes me down deep into Parts and Services where I see Vanessa talking to a trapped Freddy. She turns around to the sound of Chica's footsteps.
"Chica? Why are you down here? You're supposed to be looking for that child." Chica then throws me in front of her. "Lyle? What happened to you?" She gets a closer look at me as I start feeling more anxious. Her eyes dilate in surprise. "Wait a minute. You're the old Lyle! How are... how are you moving?! We kept you powered down! Freddy! Do you have anything to do with Lyle's awakening?" Freddy struggles against his restraints. "No Vanessa." She gives him a piercing glance. "Yeah right, I was wondering why you were referring to a Lyle." She gives me another look. "Chica. We can't have a rogue animatronic wandering the building. Turn him off." Chica grabs me and presses something on the inner portion of my neck joints. Reading the room, I pretend to go limp and powerless. "Should I do something with him?" Vanessa has a defeated tone in her voice after that question. I can imagine her facepalming. "Just, just leave him there. I don't have time for this, we can get the technicians to look at him in the morning."
And with that Chica and Vanessa leave the room. I can hear a familiar pitter-patter as a boyish voice is heard behind me. "Freddy! Are you okay? And what did they do to Lyle?" I hear Freddy's voice, "Lyle's fine Gregory, they just pressed his emergency shut off switch." I power on at this point, now that I'm certain Vanessa and pals had left. "Wait, Lyle! You're okay?" "Y-yes. I just p-pretended to turn o-off." "Ooh, good thinking!" "E-enough about me though. L-let's get Freddy out of here."
