~Michael Everett's POV~

Clementine and I walked through an empty field. We escaped Savannah. The air was humid from all of the rain. It was sunset and it was the most peaceful thing I've seen in a while. I held Clementine's hand as we walked.

I couldn't stop thinking about my father. I didn't know if he was alive or dead, and that's what hurt me the most. I looked at Clementine and she looked back at me. We both were upset over my dad. She loved him just as much as I did.

Clem and I sat on a log. I put my arm around her.

"You okay?" I asked her.

She shrugged her shoulders.

"I know, stupid question," I said.

"Are you okay?" She asked me.

"No..." I answered truthfully. "I'm not..."

Both of us sat in silence until I spotted three figures walking across a hill in the distance. Clementine gasped.

I stood up and tried to make out a face, but it was impossible. There were two adults and a kid that almost looked  Clem's age.

The figures stopped in the distance and I could sense that they saw us. I waved my hand at them. All three of them waved back.
