HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY 🇮🇳

Stuti! My coffee, Stuti beta (child) my morning tea, newspaper, my breakfast, my clothes...
ahhhhhhhh!!! stopppppp!!!! I whisper yelled to myself. I am not the maid of this house, I am a daughter-in-law too, while I was talking to myself my bade papa called me. I calmed my anger down and went out of the kitchen.
The moment I stepped out of the kitchen the sight scared me a little. Everyone was running here and there as surprisingly everyone got late for work.
The only person who is calm my dear father-in-law, sitting in his wheelchair silently in a corner and watching everyone with a slight smile.
I informed everyone that the breakfast was ready and started arranging the plates. Meanwhile, I got to know that my dear hubby ( note the sarcasm) has left for his work early without having his breakfast. Everyone sat down and I started to serve them.
"Did Adi have his breakfast?" Dadi asked me. "No Dadi, he left early for work," I answered her. "So, can't you wake up early for one day and make breakfast for him? It's not like you go to work and get tired. Because of your selfishness, my grandson had to go empty stomach.
Didn't your parents teach you anything?" After giving her lecture she got up and went to her room. Whereas me, I was looking down controlling my anger. He didn't even inform me that he had to go early.
Everyone left from there feeling bad for me. While I was cleaning, I sensed someone's presence so, I looked back to see my father-in-law with a bucket of chocolate ice cream in his hand and a smile playing on his lips. I was looking at him confused.
He understood my confusion and said," come let us have some father-daughter time." But papa I haven't cleaned-- he cuts me in between and says that's not an important work now neither it's my work only, we have helpers for that.
I and papa were eating ice cream sitting in the garden. We were eating like small kids, fully messy. " Ignore what your Dadi said. She just wants some excuse to insult you.
I and your ma only know how well mannered you are. Cooking and cleaning are only your work but also Dhairya's, Dhananjay, Damini, Hemangini's, Chitrangada, Chinmayee and most importantly Prathamadithya's. Let them come and they will be the ones to prepare dinner." Papa told me which made me feel better.
While we were devouring the ice cream we both heard the sound of clapping. We diverted our attention from the ice cream and my mother-in-law came into view.
" Wow!!! ARE YOU BOTH SMALL KIDS? JUST LOOK AT YOUR CLOTHES AND ARYAMAN!! YOU TOO. " My mother-in-law scolded us.
"Ohoo Adweta why are you disturbing our lovely time. It doesn't matter we will just wash it off." Papa said casually, eating the ice cream while i nodded my head like a kid replying I'll wash it off. Ma sighed and silently watched us eating.
After a few seconds, papa took another spoon out from his pocket and showed it to ma like a child. Ma and I couldn't help but laugh. She took the spoon and sat beside papa on the bench whereas i was sitting down and started devouring the ice cream,not before cleaning Papa's and my mouth with a tissue as ice cream was spread all over our mouth.
I felt soo happy when Ma helped me clean too, it made me feel as if my mother is doing it. They both treat me like their own daughter.
OH!!! Did I introduce myself? I am Devastuti Prathamadithya Shekhawat. The youngest daughter in law.My husband is the youngest amongst his brothers.
I have three more brothers-in-law ( including Anirudh) and five sisters-in-law (including Vanya). They are all like my real brothers and sister and always support me in everything.
My husband is the only one who rarely talks to me and avoids me most of the time. We both have been married for 8 months. We all are a joint family.
My in-laws are still so in love. They even today go on dates and sneak out at midnight. How wonderful it would be if, I and Prathamadithya can be like them. But it can NEVER HAPPEN.
