Returning home at night after a tiring long day at work, Vansh straightaway layed down on the bed spreading his hands and legs while staring at the ceiling blankly. These seemed to relax his aching muscles a bit after all the exhaustion he had to go through the whole day. He was about to yell 'Riddhima, can you give me a coffee?' when realization dawn up on him. They were not together anymore. Riddhima, his Riddhima wasn’t with him anymore. It has been two damn months since that but he still couldn’t let go of the habit of asking for a coffee from her after returning home let alone forgetting her.

He always found Riddhima standing before him smiling with coffee in her hands when he returned home. She would eagerly enquire how his day went and chat with him wholeheartedly keeping her head on his chest hugging him so close to her as if conveying how much she missed him all day. Forgetting her was impossible, Vansh knew. To speak the truth, he never even wanted to. She was the only woman who could capture Vansh's heart as well as mind.

The thought of Riddhima alone was enough to turn his eyes glassy. Soon enough tears made their way dripping from his eyes continuously and he didn’t bothered to stop them or wipe them off rather continued staring at the ceiling.

''You know Vansh today I was so bored. So to pass my time, I made a chocolate cake from the recipe on youtube. Try it." Riddhima chirped enthusiastically forwarding him the plate of chocolate cake she was holding.

Vansh gazed at the fine looking cake. Keeping aside his phone that he was scrolling in till now, he made Riddhima also sit beside him. When the first bite of cake touched his taste buds, his face paled. The cake was salty. Too salty actually. Maybe she had mistakenly put salt instead of sugar. Not wanting to dissapoint his sweetheart with this truth, he forced a smile on his face and gulped it down.

"How is it? Tell me." Riddhima queried in anticipation.

"It’s very tasty sweetheart." he lied through his teeth and smiled at her.
"But not more than you." he added to which Riddhima's face turned beetroot red.

"Shameless man." Riddhima remarked smacking his arm while he chuckled.

"I haven’t been shameless yet. If you say, I can be." Vansh winked naughtily and Riddhima just glared at him in response trying hard to hide her blush.

"Shut up Vansh. Give me the plate. Let me also taste the cake." Riddhima demanded. Vansh got nervous as the truth of the cake would be out if she tasted it.

"No! I am going to eat it all as I really love it. You can prepare another one for yourself." Vansh declared off forcing another piece of cake into his mouth.

"What is this Vansh? At least let me have a piece. I want to know how it tastes." Riddhima protested and took the cake from his hands before he could reply anything and stuffed a piece of it in her mouth. In no seconds, the cake was spitted off by her and she made a disgusting face.

"Why didn’t you tell me that it was so bad? How did you even eat it? I can hardly eat it." Riddhima asked Vansh while he gave a toothy smile to her.

"I didn’t want to dissapoint you telling that as you were very excited about the cake."

"That's a old fashioned idea. Don’t repeat it again." Riddhima made a face.
"Hopefully you will be able to survive it and won't fall sick tomorrow." she laughed and layed beside him on bed.

"Tring! Tring!"

The sound of doorbell brought Vansh out of the memory lane he was walking in and he immediately got up. Wiping his tears that had dried till now, he opened the door to check who visited him at this hour of night but found his neighbour Ms. D'souza standing there who looked at him sympathetically.

"You return home late these days. So I made dinner for you too. Have it and sleep well. Everything will be fine soon." she wished smiling a little and handed him a tiffin box.

Vansh smiled. He had been returning home late these days because unlike earlier he didn’t have any rush to return home. There is no one now who would be waiting for his arrival. But this elderly woman has been a mother figure to a orphan like him and was taking care of him as much as possible during his hard time. He only had his sweetheart with him to care for him. But now she was gone and he was alone again.
"There is no need to do these, aunty. But thanks."

Ms. D'souza smiled and went away. Vansh returned to his room and slept having dinner preparing to pass another lonely day without Riddhima like he had been passing since last two months.
