Something woke me in the middle of the night. What was it? From what my ears picked up, it was someone who opened the door. Had Vi come back? I kept my eyes closed as footsteps traveled around the shared bedroom. "Look! I made them for the enforcers!" I heard Powder say before something she held made a rattling noise. "Those are smoke bombs, and those two are full of nails!" She exclaimed proudly. Feeling myself smile, I quickly pretended I was still sleeping. Eavesdropping. I know, not good, but I can't help myself, you know? "They're gonna work this time. I know it." She said, determined. I remember her bomb not working when fighting the dude in the alleyway. I know, if that explosion was much bigger, it could blind absolutely everyone! Powder deserves a reward for crafting those gadgets on her own. "Me too," Vi added. Unlike most of the time. Her voice was so soft, so quiet, so pleasant.

"You know, Powder, what makes you different makes you strong. Always remember that, okay?" She said. Vi's voice was trembling slightly. Like she was about to cry. Had something happened when she was away? After that, I heard Vi's footsteps leave to another area and the door closed yet again. It was late. Where was she going? I squinted my eyes, seeing the light from Powder's bed go off. The sudden rush of worry was getting over me. Pushing myself off of the couch, I slowly walked up the stairs, trying not to make any noise. Opening the door, I heard something move behind me. "Y/n? Where are you going?" A high-pitched voice asked. Knowing that it was Powder, I smiled at her. Though, she couldn't see it. "Uh, bathroom. I'll be back, don't worry." I reassured before closing the door behind me.

Making sure that I wasn't noticed sneaking out, I watched the staircase to the bar before turning around. Spotting Vi's pink hair leaving the door, I quietly followed, obviously trying not to get caught. Vi walked into the main street, so I pulled up my hood. There were fewer people around at this time, but if people saw and recognized me, I don't know what I'd do.
We walked pretty far from the bar now, but I was sure Powder was asleep, so she wouldn't be waiting for my return. Does anyone do that? Wait for their friend to finish a piss when you're a wink away from sleep? I know I don't, and neither did Caitlyn. I'm thinking of her again... God... I wish I could send her a letter.
Suddenly, Vi went into a dark alleyway with trash bins and garbage galore. The smell was hideous- where was she going? To my surprise, she turned around, but I managed to hide behind a dumpster. As I sat there, crouched, I heard my heart race. I don't know if I was scared of what Vi would do if she caught me, or if I was scared of being caught. A few moments passed, and I found the courage to peek my head over the bin, but that's when my body slammed against the concrete wall. A loud groan escaped my mouth as my vision went blurry for a moment.

"Who are you and why are you following me!?" A familiar voice hissed. "Argh... Vi..." The words slipped out of my mouth as my vision went clear again. She looked so intimidating, just like the first time this happened. "Y/n? What are you doing here- I'm not letting you go until you tell me." She said seriously. I looked down at her, eyebrows furrowed. I was pissed at the fact my head hurt, but I was also pissed that I got caught so easily. "Following you, where were you going?" I asked back, making Vi speechless. "Cat got your tongue? That was easy..." I teased with a slight smirk. This made Vi huff in defeat and loosened her grip on me. "Ugh, fine..." She started as I relaxed my shoulder muscles. She avoided my gaze as she explained, but looked up occasionally. "You know how Vander won't let us fight, right?" She asked me, looking at me. I nodded slowly, raising an eyebrow. "What about it?" I asked. She shrugged. "The enforcers need a criminal to take back... and I was thinking... well..." She stopped. Looking at her, she was holding her words back. What was she thinking in that pretty head? The pieces were out, I just needed to put them together. Sure, some parts were missing, but I could get the picture right. I held my hand over my mouth, shocked. "Are you doing what I think you're going to do?" I initiated. She avoided my gaze, now taking a step back. Was she afraid of my judgment? If she was, I would be gentle.
