As we stood at the start of a stairway(a stairway that left us visible but still a little hidden), a buff woman slammed her hands on one of the tables. "We should hit them back. We've got the numbers to beat them." She said with an angry expression. Then, a man nearby raised his hand. "Yeah! Let's teach them what it means to mess with us!" He said before everyone roared for Vander's approval. Little did I know that he was the leader of this place. He certainly didn't look like it, but some things aren't as they appear, I suppose. As I stood between Vi and Mylo, I didn't know how to feel about the situation. Fight back to Piltover? Sure, the enforcers have been very disrespectful to the people here, but that doesn't mean we should fight! Let's just force their eyes open! I know that sounds easier than it is, but can't we try the safest option first? Protest maybe?
I could hear the customers of the bar agree before turning to Vander. He looked down at the floor as he lit a matchstick and dipped it inside the smoke pipe. Was he going to agree? If he was, I'm not going to let him get through with it! "He better say no..." I mumbled to myself. Vi looked down at me with disbelief. "What are you saying?" She asked with a serious look on her face. This girl must be crazy! War won't fix this, but I don't want Vi to turn against me. So, I smiled at her. "I said that he better say yes! We need to fight! For the better of the people down here..." I said trying to cover up my huge mess-up. While giving Vi a determined smile, she looked at me with a plain face before chuckling. "Good, we might need someone like you on our team." She whispered before going back to listen to Vander.

"You sure that's what you want?" He asked loudly to his people while taking a smoke. "Yeah! Let's do it!" Someone in the crowd yelled. Vander sighed out the smoke. "We crossed that bridge before, and we all know how that ended." He started. What was he talking about? You mean, that war all those years ago? The explosions on the bridge, the way the red smoke rose to the sky, that was Vander's doing? It seems like he doesn't want to fight, thank god. "You're just protecting your kids." Someone commented, disappointed and angry. Vander looked back at us for a short moment and shook his head while straightening his posture. "I'm protecting our people. I'd do the same for any one of you." He reasoned. "We look out for each other. It's the way it's always been." He continued, looking over everyone. "This will blow over. We just need to stand together." Vander said, trying to convince everyone to hold back.

The woman who started scoffed and stood up to him. "The Vander I knew," She began. "the one who built the underground, wouldn't be afraid to fight." She threw at him sharply. The air was tense. Were they going to fight? Then, I don't want to see it. I've seen how the kids fight, hell, I've fought some kids near the border, but adults from the undercity? That would be wild. Vander walked up to the woman as he took a breath in from his smoke pipe. Everyone was watching silently, not even a whisper as everyone watched expectantly. "Do I look afraid?" Vander asked as the smoke poured out of his mouth. The woman made a face at him and tch'ed. "No..." She started before getting a little closer. "You look weak..." She hissed before gathering the rest of her with a sharp whistle which I found quite cool. They left without another word. This left almost the entire bar in disappointment, but they still stayed.

As everyone went back to talking and drinking, we still stood there. "Why isn't he doing anything?" Claggor questioned, being part of the disappointed party. Powder looked back at us with an irritated face. "We kicked the enforcer's butts with the five of us. Imagine what the whole of the Lanes could do!" She exclaimed. Mylo chuckled and started going back down the stairway. "Jeez, even Powder wants to fight." He said. Vi scoffed. "So why aren't we?" She added, also annoyed. They're all in the disappointed boat... huh. I only got to take about three steps down the stairs until the footsteps behind me stopped. The sisters were looking around the corner. I think that's where the kid with the white hair stood. "Spill it, Ekko," Vi commanded. Not knowing what to do, I just stood there. "Oh, okay. Well um, Vander's... got a deal with the enforcers." He said with a hint of guilt. A deal? I wonder which enforcer. "What deal?" Vi said with disbelief.
Ekko sighed before walking past the sisters. "... I'll tell you in the room. Not here." He said. Vi jogged down the stairs with new energy, but it didn't feel good. Something was growing inside of her. It felt like a ticking time bomb. I gulped nervously as Ekko and Vi were left outside to talk. I sat down with a soft sigh and crossed my legs, feeling comfortable. I stared down at the new weapon Vi and I had put together. Leading my finger through the hole at the top of the dagger, I tried twirling it, but the fabric wrapped itself around my wrist. I chuckled as I undid it. I've got to master these someday. Who knows... maybe this will benefit me in battle if I used them correctly! This time, I held it by the fabric, close to the ring, and waved the dagger in circles. Then, it started making whirring noises, and Mylo looked at me worried. "Don't accidentally stab someone's eye out, Y/n." He warned. "Oh, I won't..." I mumbled as I continued.
