Crouching down at the back of the airship, I covered my ears. This was Jinx's gun, I know it... but how could I help her? There's no way I'm going back, I might get hit, but if I don't go, the airship might get hit. I hated this feeling of not knowing what to do. It put me under so much stress and that's bad for someone like me! The rules that have been hammered into my spine were pressuring me, and it didn't make anything better!
Eventually, I heard the machinery slow down, and the gunshots stopped. In addition, I heard a firelight whoosh away, and the yellow crystal started breaking. Nervously walking to the main deck, I saw Jinx standing very still as Sevika stood right in front of her. The sister figure was angry at Jinx. The folds on her face, the way her eyebrows furrowed, showed pure anger and frustration. "You were supposed to guard the cargo." She said sternly. In response, Jinx tilted her head and chuckled. Sevika might hurt her. Running to Jinx's side, I checked for any wounds, as usual. "Jinx! Are you okay? You're not hurt, are you? How about you, Sevika?" I said with a worried tone. Feeling Sevika's gaze on me as I examined Jinx's exposed skin, I turned to her.She looked irritated, but for what? I looked back at her, mocking her expression with my arms crossed. "What's the matter with you? Need a band-aid?" I spat at her, standing in front of Jinx. Sevika never had a soft spot for Jinx. The only reason why Sevika didn't have the balls to explode on her was because of Silco. She was terrified of what would happen if he saw his two girls hurt. Sevika scoffed at me, staring me straight in the eye. There was no intimidation or fear, we were at the same level, literally. "Maybe a trip home will do. Maybe you can stuff that girl in a box while you're at it, she's trouble and a burden. We both know it." She said before walking off to speak with our captain to abandon this device. I was shocked. Why would you say something like that?! "Who's "we"? I know for sure Jinx isn't trouble nor is she a burden! You're just scared of her!" I commented before she wasn't able to hear my screaming.
Sevika and I bickered like this whenever we disagreed. If it was small, it would slide easily with a laugh, but things like this weren't okay in my eyes! Turning to Jinx with a softer gaze, I pulled her in for a hug and stroked her hair. I felt her rapid heartbeat slow down to a more steady pace. She was breathing normally now, and her arms wrapped around my back. "It's okay Jinx, whatever happened, it's okay..." I comforted her as she hugged me tighter. I tried looking at her face. She looked tired, so I lifted her chin to face me. "Mind telling me what happened? It isn't your fault, I'm sure." I reassured, knowing she doesn't go haywire like that. She glanced to the side before burying her face in my neck once again. "One of those Firelight people was a girl... with pink hair." She admitted before letting out a sigh.
Understanding her, I hugged her a little tighter. She thought it was Vi, that Vi had joined the other side of the undercity. I hushed her before taking a seat, looking out. "Your sister is gone, we both know that very well. Though we won't know about her whereabouts, I'm sure she isn't anywhere near us. If she won't keep you safe, then I will, and that's a promise I'll keep forever." I told while reaching out my pinky fingers. Somehow, I felt a sense of guilt when I said that. I'd convinced myself that I never liked Vi, but in the back of my head, I knew I still missed her. In an instant, Jinx wrapped her pinky around mine and we shook twice before meeting our thumbs. I swear, if I see Vi in real life, she'll either get the worst beating of her life or the tightest hug ever. Vi has blessed me with a beautiful sister, but the way she left her in my arms is unacceptable. As we neared the border between Piltover and the undercity, I felt a tap on my shoulder. "Y/n?" Jinx asked me as I fiddled with my hand in my hands. Turning to her, I wrapped my arm around her shoulders. "Yeah, what's up?" I responded. As the blue-haired girl skipped through the border, she huffed. "I thought you were going to steal something?" She said while flicking the fake flower on my hat.
I sighed as I patted her head. "Maybe not today. We already caused a little too much trouble for the enforcers today. Any more and they'll lose their cool, you know how enforcers are. Just asshole criminals in fancy uniforms..." I said while sneaking in a chuckle. Jinx found my statement funny too as we watched the bright blue sky. They were just as blue as the girl's eyes.
