I sat on a bench outside of the school's compound, as teenagers in uniforms stood chatting or passed by to get to where they had to be. As a yawn escaped my lips, I placed the palm of my hand over my mouth and sighed.
It was around 8:00 in the morning and I had no intentions to be awake so early, but I had to take Ava to her interview. I would have liked to go into the building with her, but wasn't allowed, because of strict regulations. Pressing my lips together, I felt tension inside of my chest. I hoped things went well, if they didn't, I knew we would still find a way to be together. Though, her getting the job would make it easier on us.
I already scheduled to commence at Columbia in Spring, so there was no going back. Whether or not Ava got the job, I would still be attending. I took a deep breath, as my heart jumped continuously inside of my chest, my anxiety rising.
She'll get it, she'll get it, I chanted in my head, as I closed my eyes and grabbed the edge of the bench with my hands, my fingers tightening around the wood.
I felt hands wrap around my head, covering my eyes and I swallowed, but quickly realized whose hands they were, "are you going to present yourself or not?"
She chuckled and moved her hands down, so that she could wrap her arms around my neck, "I love you," she whispered into my ear and kissed the side of my neck, which made two students, who were walking by, look at us strangely.
"Babe, is this you trying to tell me that you didn't get the job?" I questioned, turning my head and shifting my body, so that I could see her face.
"Why do you ask that?" I quirked a brow and placed my hands over her arms that were still around my neck.
"You're showing affection in front of students. I'm just saying, if you're going to be a teacher here, you wouldn't do that," she pressed her lips together and removed her arms from my body.
"Well, unless I'm a big dumbass," she forced a laugh and placed the palm of her hand on the back of her neck.
"You got the job?"
"Yes, love, I did," I jumped off of my seat and wrapped my arms around her neck.
"Fuck, yes," I blurted and kissed her on her lips. She smiled against my lips, before lightly pushing me, a blush creeping onto her face, "sorry, I couldn't help myself," I apologized bashfully.
"Let's get out of here, love. I want to feel your body against mine, as I tell you the details," I nodded with a broad smile on my face.

WE WENT INTO a local pizzeria to get something to eat. Ava and I sat on the same side of the booth, our bodies as close as possible, "what can I get you girls?" The waiter asked with furrowed brows. He was obviously taking keen observation to our closeness.
My eyes scanned the menu in front of me, as my mind tried to decide what to get, "let's have a medium pepperoni with the flat-crust," oh, I love pepperoni, "anything else, love?" I shook my head, as I continued to look at the menu, "I figured," she snickered and shifted her eyes from me and to the waiter.
"Anything to drink?" The waiter questioned, his eyes still roaming over us.
"Yes, of course, I will have a sprite, and my girlfriend will have a..." She turned back to me, awaiting my answer.
"The same," I pressed my lips together, as Ava wrapped her arm tighter around my torso.
"So that will be a medium, flat-crusted pepperoni and two sprites?" We both nodded and his eyes finally left us and travelled toward another table, "that will be all?" He refocused his eyes on me. I held back a cringe and lowered my eyes, "okay then," he finished and walked away, probably noticing Ava's intense, possessive stare.
"I'm gonna kick his ass," she mumbled, as I rested my head onto her shoulder and sighed.
"So tell me the details," I changed the topic. She smiled and placed a kiss on my cheek..
"It's a position for sophomores, though I would prefer seniors, but that's okay. Pay is good and benefits are reasonable. They want me to start in early January, I have the exact date on a piece of paper somewhere inside of my bag."
"That's great, babe," a yawn escaped my lips. Forming my hand into a fist, I rubbed my eyes one after the other.
"You tired?" She placed her hand behind my head and caressed my scalp, as her arm pulled me even closer into her.
"Maybe," another yawn escaped my lips and I sighed.
"Okay, we'll eat and then head straight home," she comforted, her warmth wasn't helping much with my tiredness, "I love you, Kylie," her breath fanned my cheeks, making it difficult for me to keep my eyes open.
"I love you too," I responded, as I nuzzled my face into her neck, inhaling her intoxicating scent, "you smell so good," I mumbled, as I took repeated, deep inhales. She smelled like love.
"Thanks, love," she moved her hair to the other side of her shoulder and wrapped both of her arms around me, "at least eat something before you fall asleep on me," she chuckled and ran the palm of her hand up and down my back, soothing my tense muscles.
"But you're so comfy," I placed a kiss on her chest and allowed my lips to linger on her soft skin.
She took a deep breath and rested her chin on top of my head, "I wish we could stay like this forever," I nodded against her chest in approval.
"Let's do that, please."
