Kyla's POV
Rayne and I fell asleep around two or three in the morning. We woke up around nine. I had to be at work in two hours. Rayne and I had some breakfast then she left so I could get ready.
I started work at eleven and it was now one. I got done at four today so I can leave in a couple hours and get ready for my date with Luke. I was cleaning the counter off when Jake walked in.
"Hey Kyla!" he said and sat down in front of me.
"Hello Jake." I said back.
"What are you doing tonight?"
"I'm going on a date with Luke. Why?"
"Oh. Of course you are." he said looking down. He seemed upset and annoyed by my answer. I was actually getting sick of him getting an attitude everytime I brought up Luke or the rest of them. I knew he never really cared for them but he never acted like this.
"What is that supposed to mean?" I asked him and stopped cleaning the counter.
"Nothing." he looked at me then back down at his hands. "I'm just saying, but I wouldn't trust Luke if I were you. I don't trust him."
"What is that supposed to mean Jake?" I was starting to get angry.
"He's a celebrity Kyla. Do you really think he actually cares or likes you? You're probably just a girl he wants to fuck. Then he'll totally forget about you when he leaves, you'll mean nothing to him." he looked right into my eyes.
"That's not Luke. He's not like that. He wouldn't do that." I said staring back at him trying not to cry. What if Jake's right? Luke doesn't seem the type to do that though.
"Think of it Kyla. He's famous. You're not. What else would he want from you? No matter what happens you're just going to mean nothing to him."
"Go." I said in a low whisper he could barely hear. I looked down, not able to look at him.
"Kyla, I'm just warning you. I don't want to see you get your expectations high then get hurt." he stood up but he didn't move.
"I said go!" he left and I went to the back room by my stuff and sat down and cried. What if Jake is right? What if he is wrong? I hope he is wrong.
Luke's POV
"I'm so fucking nervous." I told the guys while I was making sure I looked okay for the date. I haven't been on a date in a while. What if I messed everything up?
"You look good, don't worry." Calum said.
"Any advise? Please." I looked at all of them.
"You'll be fine Lucas" Calum told me.
"So have you decided if you're going to kiss Kyla tonight?" Michael asked and gave me a smirk. I want to. I just don't know if I'll be able to.
I got to Kyla's house and went to the door and rang the doorbell. I meet Susie last time, so I'm kind of hoping I don't have to do it again. Kyla came to the door.
"Hey Luke." she said with a smile on her face. All I could manage was a small 'hi' and smile back. She finished putting on her coat and she grabbed her keys and locked the door. I opened the car door for her and closed it once she was in.
I drove into the small parking lot and parked. I got out of the car and helped Kyla out. I heard her laugh a little which put a smile on my face.
"Luke, what are we doing here?" she looked at the park then at me. She had a huge smile on her face which caused me to smile more.
"Well I thought we could have some fun before dinner. Besides, the reservation's not till eight." I looked at her and smiled.
"So we're just going to walk around the park for an hour?"
"Um. Not quite. Let's go!" I grabbed her hand and started running to the swing set. I know it's for little kids but I didn't care, and who doesn't like the swings? While we were running, and by running I mean I was and dragging Kyla along so she had no other choice but to run, I heard her laughing the entire way.
We got to the swings and I let go of her hand. I got on one of the swings and pointing to the one next to it, hoping she would take it. At first she just stood there looking at me and laughing. Then she finally took the swing next to me. After a while we stopped swinging. Not completly stopped but not swinging.
"I'm so happy this was the last place we got to play at for tour." I told her and meant it. If that show wasn't our last, we wouldn't be on this date right now.
"Yeah. I'm really happy I actually got to go." she said.
"What do you mean?" I asked confused by what she meant.
"Well tickets were expensive and I was close to being able to afford one but I didn't have enough. Then one day my friend Rayne, the other one at the meet and greet, gave me a birthday present which was tickets and meet and greets." she laughed a little and looked at me. "You know. It's kind of funny. She said, because I turned seventeen this year and the concert was on the seventeenth, it was good luck. I didn't think it'd be this lucky." After spending a little more time at the park we went to dinner. I dropped her off after and we walked to her door.
"I had an amazing time." I said looking at her blue eyes.
"So did I. Thank you Luke." she smiled. I leaned in and gently kissed her.
