An Unbreakable Love

Chp.8 'Marriage!?'

Jimin POV-

I reached my Grandma's house.  I asked one of the maids about  my Grandma. She told me thag she is in her bedroom. 

I reached her bedroom. I knocked on the door and heard my Grandma's voice. 'Come in'

I entered and saw that she was on the balcony drinking alcohol. I went towards her.

" You came. Come sit," she told me with a smile. 

I took the glass from her hand and sat. " Yah! Why did you take my glass?"

" What do you mean why? Alcohol is not good for you. I have told you so many times why don't you listen to me?" I asked her strictly.

" Oh really. Fine. I will listen to you but you also promise me that you will stop fooling around girls. If you do it I'll stop drinking." I gave her the glass back and sat quietly. She grinned at me.

" Why did you call me? What happened?" I asked her, changing the topic and poured myself a glass. 

" I want to talk to you. It's serious." I looked at her curiously. "  What is it?" 

" I am sure you know about my health." I furrowed my eyebrows. " Why are you saying this suddenly. Are you not feeling better?"

" I am fine...as of now. But don't know when I will not." " Granny what are you say-"

" No Jimin. Wait. Listen to me." She took a deep breath and continued. " You know I have a weak heart. I have lived my life totally. Our family went through many problems. It was hard but we overcame it. I know you have suffered a lot too. I always wanted you to be happy and have a bright, happy future. Marry someone who will love you a lot. Take care of yourself. You will have a happy family-"

" Granny, why are you talking about this?" I asked getting irritated.

" Let me complete Jimin. I just want to see you happy. You have no one with you. Not even your parents who will look after you-"  " I have my friends and you." I said immediately.

" I am talking about a life partner. What do you think, that your friends will stay with you forever. Won't they get married and settle with their own family? I want you to have someone who will be with you in happy and sad times. I don't want you to be alone like me. You know, even I did a mistake. When I got pregnant and went to the person who would have been your grandfather, he left me." I saw her eyes getting watery. She continued.

" He told me to abort the babies. I refused. He said it was a mistake but I never considered it a mistake. It was a blessing. I took care of your father and uncle alone. It was hard, taking care of 2 children. Having no one to take care of you when you want to be taken care of the most. I know how it feels to be alone. And it is not a nice feeling. I never married anyone because no one wanted to marry a girl who was already pregnant by another person's child. That was not the only reason. I never thought of marrying anyone because I still loved that man who said that 'it was  a mistake.' Who left me alone. I don't want you to end up like me. All alone."

" But you only got hurt when you loved that man from the bottom of your heart. Love only bought you pain and hurt." I said wiping the small tears that were escaping from my eyes. I bend to my knees and looked at her.

" Love only brings pain Granny. And I don't want to get hurt. True love doesn't exist for me."

" No idiot. Yes, Love brings pain but it also brings a lot of happiness. I was very happy when I was with him. That was the time I felt happy from inside. Unfortunately, I was not able to be with him till the end. But I got a lot of love from your father and uncle and from my both grandsons. It was my fate to be not loved by that man. That doesn't mean that every love story ends like that. And most importantly, Love is all about risks, ups, and downs, and happy and sad moments. If you don't fight for that Love, that is not Love. After going through all the hardships when you find that Love, your life becomes like Heaven. And the feeling that there is someone who is always going to be with you, walk with you through the hard path of Life- is one of the best feelings one could ever feel. And if 2 people are meant to be... nothing can break that Love.

I was silent. I was just hearing each and every word of her. 

" It's my last wish Jimin. I want to see you get married and be happy. Please do it for me."

I put my head on her lap and closed my eyes. She started patting my head lovingly.

We sat there in silence. I was thinking about her words. Whatever she said about Love was true but I didn't want to accept it. 

Author POV-

His heart was convinced but his mind was too stubborn.

Jimin POV-

After some time I opened my eyes and looked at Granny. 

" I'll get married," I said. She looked at me surprised. " Really!? Jimin you are not joking, right? Are you sure?" She asked me getting a little worried and also excited.

" Yes. I am sure. I will get married." She smiles widely. I was happy seeing her smile so brightly after a long time. I am doing this only for her. I want to see her happy. 

" Thank you so much Jiminie!! I am so happy." She said and hugged me. 

" But to whom will I get married? I don't have feelings for any girl." I asked her breaking the hug.

" Actually there is a girl who I think can be a great wife to you. She is very nice and polite." She said looking at me, the smile never leaving her face.

" Ok, who is it?" I asked getting curious. We don't have many relatives. I think it will be the daughter of some business friend. 

" You have met her. She is a nice and beautiful girl. You don't know much about her. I think you both should hang out together for dinner or something. In this way, you both will come to know each other."

" It's fine granny. Just tell me who it is? I am sure it will be a nice one." I said while smiling at her. " So tell me ...what's her name?"

" Kim Hana."
