(Spring is in the air! With the sun finally here and shining bright I have a lot more motivation for this story!)

Growing up beside the forest she had seen the worse injuries that came  to the beast from man.

Paws mangled by bear traps. Arrows that had failed to kill on the first shot lodged far too close to the brain. Bullets that had managed to hit but not fatally kill. Fishing hooks lodged in mouths to the point that even feeding became impossible.

She could handle these things. These were things she knew she could keep under control.

Even with all these things she could control, there was one thing that she couldn't.

Fire.

It had always been a rather treacherous thing in her eyes. But at the same time, she couldn't help but to trust the warmth it gave her.

"Aguni." The call of her name made her look up. Recovery Girl stood just an arms length away. A concerned expression on her face. "Are you alright?"

[Y/n] looked to her hands that rested on her lap. Her eyes dancing along the pattern. Her eyes eventually found their way to the tip of her fingers. Where the skin was just a few tones off from her own.

"My guardian is going to do something reckless and I won't be able to fix him this time."

"What do you mean?"

"I can't heal dead flesh." Her eyes fell to her journal. It was something she had began to carry when she was just seven. She grabbed hold of it. "Flesh that's been burned, rotted or destroyed to the point that cells no longer exist, I can't heal."

"I see..." Recovery Girl let out a breath. She took a seat in her chair. "I can tell your starting to care for him."

"Seeing as I spend most of my day by him, it couldn't be helped."
