Chapter 10: The Fight

Connor's POV
After I seen Jude and Isaac kissing I just turned around and ran straight home. When I got home I ran up to my room and locked the door. I laid there on my bed thinking I was to late. I start crying until I can no longer cry. After I'm done crying I just fall asleep.

When I wake up, I get ready and have breakfast. I walk to school with Jude in my thoughts. I finally arrive at the entrance of school I breathe deeply and get ready to face Jude and Isaac.

I go to my locker and get my books. I decide I'm going to meet up with Jude before class. When I start walking towards Jude's locker I see a crowd of people surrounding his locker.

I make my way through the crowd and see Jude in the ground getting beat up by Blake and Jeremy. I hear them calling Jude a faggot and they start kicking him. I run up to Blake and punch him the hardest I can. He falls onto the ground. I turn towards Jeremy and tackle him down and start punching him aggressively. In the back I can hear Jude screaming at me to stop and that they had enough. I just continue.

A teacher finally comes and gets me off of Jeremy. He takes me, Jude, Blake, and Jeremy into the office.
"What happened!?" Lena asked me and Jude with a worried face.
I just start explain to her that I was protecting Jude because they were bullying him.
"Okay ... Well I'm just gonna finish up with Blake and Jeremy and than I'm gonna take both of you home. Go get your stuff." Lena says
We both nod and make our way to our lockers. Everyone was in class already so we were alone in the hallway. When we get to Jude's locker I know he's mad at me.

I say "Jude I'm sorry. I know I should of stopped when you told me to, but those guys were hurting you and making fun of you, so I just wanted to protect you."
"That's the deal Connor. It's not your job to protect me anymore! It's Isaac's!" Jude says angrily.
I just stand there shocked. Why was Jude mad at me for defending him?!
"Fine!" I say storming off.

I go and sit on the bench where me and Jude always go. I just sit down and look at waves. I put my head in my heads. I suddenly feel a hand touch my back. I turn around and see Jude.

"Connor, I'm sorry I overreacted it's just that I wanted Isaac to be the one that came and saved me." Jude says.
"I get." I say
"Do you forgive me for being such an ass?" Jude asks
"Yes" I say laughing.
"Hey can I stay at your house for awhile because my dad's at work and I don't want to be bored home alone." I ask
"Yea, sure it'll be fun" Jude says excitedly.

Me and Jude wait for Lena to finish and go to the car. As she drives to the house I just look outside the car window and stare and the cars driving by. When we get to the house Lena gives us money to order something. She leaves back to school after. As Jude waves bye to her I smile at the thought of me and Jude being alone for 6 hours.
