Chapter 7

Eric and I go to our hotel on Jeju Island. We'll be staying here for 5 days, then I'll have to go back to Seoul to fly back home. I'll enjoy my little vacation with Eric as much as possible. This vacation in Jeju will take up the rest of my time in Korea, then I'll be flying back home.
"Eric, I'm going back home after we're done visiting Jeju." I said.
"Really?" Eric asked.
"Yeah, I only planned on being here for 2 weeks." I said.

"Thanks so much, Eric. You're the best." I said.
"It's my pleasure." Eric said.

Once we're settled into our hotel room, we then hit the beach. I love long walks along the beach with my boyfriend. This is something out of my wildest dreams. Walking along the beach with the man I'm deeply in love with is something I only imagined in my dreams. Now, it's actually happening in real life, and I couldn't be happier. Eric makes me the happiest girl in the world. I just hope that our relationship will last a long time. My friends will never believe me when I say I'm in a relationship with Eric Nam. The famous K-pop soloist from Atlanta, Georgia. They'll only believe it when they see proof. I don't need to validate my relationship to anyone. It's mine, and it's between Eric and I. It is nobody else's business.

As we're walking along the beach, hand-in-hand, Eric pauses for a moment. He's enjoying the view.
"You know, baby, you're the best thing that's ever happened to me." Eric said.
"Aww, I feel the same." I said.
"I couldn't imagine a more perfect person to walk into my life. I'm so glad that you're in my life. That's why I would like to give you something." Eric said.
"What is it?" I asked.
"This." Eric said. He pops open a ring box, inside it is a beautiful ring. It's made of blue topaz and silver. The ring looks like this:

"Eric, that's absolutely beautiful." I said.
"It's a promise ring. A promise that no matter how far apart we may become, we're always together. Whether you go back to America and I stay here in Korea. Or vice versa, we're always together because of this ring." Eric explained.
"Wow, that's beautiful. Of course I promise that. I promise to never leave you despite how far apart we become." I said.
"Good." Eric said, then slid the perfectly fitting ring on my finger.
"I love it. Thank you!" I exclaimed. Then, I kissed Eric romantically.
"I love you so much, and I'll miss you like crazy when you go back home." Eric said.
"I'll miss you too." I said.

With this new promise ring, I now know that Eric is committed to me. I know we're getting serious now. Eric will be turning 33 this November and I'll be turning 19 a week before his birthday, so I know we've both got marriage in mind. Ideally, I'd like to be married by 25, by the time I graduate college. If I get married before then, that'd be okay too. I don't even care that Eric and I are 15 years apart. We've shown that we love each other all the same. It's like we don't even have that huge age gap there. There are times where Eric's age shows more than other times. It's funny to see that generational gap sometimes. A Gen Z versus a Millenial. We have our differences for sure, but we've been able to work through our differences. We've been able to grow together and learn from each other.

Eric and I finish our walk on the beach. Then, we go get dinner together. We head to a higher end restaurant. This place is fairly fancy and has intimidating 아줌마들(middle-aged women) here. They're all dressed fancy in their black dresses. I'm intimidated by them, but Eric told me to just ignore that fact. We came here for a nice dinner. I need to enjoy it. Our food arrives to our table and we dig in. Eric and I have a conversation about marriage. This is something that we both want to accomplish in the near future. We know that we want to get married to each other, we just need to find the right time. Our time to get married will come. We just need to be patient.

After dinner, Eric and I go back to our hotel to relax for the evening. I run a bath and once it's lukewarm, I put a bath bomb in it and climb in.
"Hey, babe. Wanna join me? The water's real nice." I said.
"Oh, I'd love to." Eric said, stripping down to nothing.
