Chapter 1

[Ethan]

Why is everyone staring at me?

"Hey!" Looking back I saw a guy smiling at me, and I just stared back.

His smile fell when he saw my impassive face. He scratched his head, "Are you lost?"

I gave a small nod as my grip tightened around the piece of paper I held. It's the University Campus Map but it being in Kanji is of no use to me.

"I knew it! I'm Alex by the way, "He gave out a hand as I stared at it, he smiled urging me to shake his hand and I slowly did. Once he shook my hand, he clapped his hand, "From the look of your face I'm guessing you're not from around here. "

I nodded again.

"I'll help you out then. " He faced forward but abruptly looked behind, "You never mentioned your name."

I gave a tight smile, "Ethan. Ethan Lively."

Alex gave me his another friendly smile as he placed his hands in his pockets, "Well Ethan, let me give you a tour of this place."

I couldn't refuse because I'm still new to Japan, and I've been roaming the huge campus for almost thirty minutes now. And this Alex character was nice enough to approach me.

Done with my inner mind battle, I decided to loosen up and offered a shy smile.

"Sure. "

He gave a thumbs up, and beckoned me to follow him towards a white building to which he says it's the architecture building.

I listened intently as Alex spoke about the University while studying his stance. He looked around my age and he doesn't look Japanese, but he was fluent since I heard him talk to a random girl who passed by to ask for directions.

As minutes flew by I realized that we've stopped infront of a room with two wide doors.

"I forgot to ask what's your schedule. Do you have any classes now?"

I shook my head, "My classes officially starts in the afternoon. "

His eyes widened, "Woah. You're quite early then, huh?"

"I wanted to check out and familiarize myself with the new environment. " And fix my class schedules.

He nodded in understanding, "Well, I hope you're hungry. "

I gave him an odd look.

He laughed before pushing through doors to reveal a cafeteria.

I took the time to look around as Alex walked towards a group of people-more like two guys, as I quietly followed. Alex sat down and was immediately in a conversation with the asian guy beside him.

He was so caught up that he somehow forgot about me, as I fidgeted like an idiot standing there.

"Who the hell is he?"

Voices stopped as darkhaired guy spoke, his question obviously aimed at me.

"Oh Yeah. Sorry Ethan. I forgot about you, I thought you already sat down. " Alex got up and bowed in sorry, before standing beside me. "Guys this is Ethan Lively. He was lost so I decided to help him out."

The guy who was sitting next to him smiled at me, "Hey. I'm Kai."

I gave a small smile. He looks friendly. I can feel that vibe from him just like Alex.

"And that's Blake. He doesn't talk much, so don't mind him." Alex whispered to my ear, but was too loud so everyone can hear.

Blake growled, "I heard that."
