"Here kitty kitty! Come here!" Vic pounced at the small cat that was lingering between the trash cans in the alley Gray had told her to wait in. They were on the hunt for a gang of criminals in the region of White Bone Creek.
"Apparently they are robbing the leader of the region with their underground corporation of badly made drugs. Seems that everybody their is highly addicted to it and can't seem to survive without it." Gray murmured as they drove around the town to check out the environment.
It was a slum full of drug dealers out in the open, the unwanted business had begun to flourish so much the head honcho of the region began to worry that this sort of cartel would take over his remaining fleet of followers. Gray had set up a drug deal with one of the main incorporates and was determined to find the leader of this crap of a drug dealer.
"Why do I have to stay in this alley?" Vic asked as Gray made sure she was well hidden among the trash that floundered around the alley.
"Because Vic, for the last time. It might get dangerous and I don't have time to be saving your ass. Besides you wouldn't shut up about leaving you home alone."
Well, I'm sorry that I am afraid of being alone, sheesh Gray."
Vic laughed as she remembered how Gray became upset from her nagging about being home alone, but being alone did scare her. She gripped the gun Gray had given her for emergencies and listened to hear if Gray was in any trouble. He was in the building next door interrogating the drug dealer.
"I ain't sayin nothin!" the dealer said as he spat out blood from the various blows Gray delivered to his face. Gray sat on the chair impatiently in the abandoned car garage and rubbed his temples
.
"Alright then, Mike, you said your name was Mike right? Okay here's what I'm going to do," Gray pulled out his revolver and took all the bullets out except for one. "You ever heard of Russian Roulette? Oh, I'm sure you have, so wanna play? I think you do." Gray said as he placed the gun on Mikes sweaty head let out a cry as Gray pulled the trigger. Bang. Nothing happened.
"Come on Mikey, I;m giving you various chances here. Tell me where the drugs are coming from!" the dealer was dripping sweat and stayed quiet. Gray sighed and was about to pull the trigger when the door stormed open.
"Hi! Guess Who!" Vic rushed in and both Grayson and the dealer looked at her in confusion. Vic hopped in waving her gun that Gray had given to her and made her merry way next to the dealer. The dealer seemed to relax a bit and coughed out a dry laugh. "What is this? Some kind of joke?," he muttered until the click from the trigger was pulled. Blood shot out from his shoulder and his screams were shushed by Vics small hands.
"Shh, if you don't answer Grays question, I promise you I'll kill you right now." Gray was taken a back by Vics sudden action but laughed at the same time. She was learning fast, and his recklessness seemed to be rubbing off on her.
Vic waited for the dealers answer but he was squealing from the pain like a swine. Vic punched the back of his bloody shoulder and he yelled even louder until Gray stuffed a dirty rag in his mouth. Vic laughed and Gray rolled his eyes, "Last chance! Im done with your bullshit!"
The dealer cried and spat out the rag, "Im telling you I don't know! None of us know! Rumor has it that an Infected one is bringing us the drugs. Something about his face being gone, I-Im not sure, I swear!"
Grays blood boiled as he heard the dealer go on, "I heard he had some kind of mask! A skull or something, but that's all I know! I just sell them, please let me go!"
Vic looked over at Gray who seemed to be in a trance until she knocked out the dealer with a blow to his head. She rushed over to Gray and yelled at him to snap out of it but all he heard we're his wife's screams replay over and over in his head. Vic raised her hand to slap him but he grabbed her wrist, quickly pulling out his gun and pointing it to her face.
"Gray! Stop!" Vic cried as he snapped out of it releasing her from his tight grip. He said nothing and headed over to the unconscious dealer. He grabbed his legs and dragged the body to the alley where his car was hidden. Vic automatically went to the passanger seat until Gray climbed in as well. "Im sorry, I was just trying to help." He sighed and ruffled her boy short hair.
"Its okay, at least we got a lead. Thanks for the help kiddo." He put the truck into gear and wheeled away leaving a cloud of dust behind him. The fact that the skull faced man was still around causing chaos and now with these drugs left Gray in confusion. What was he up to?
"Can we grab lunch now!? Im starved!" Vic yelled and patted her belly. Gray chuckled and nodded, For now he'd have to do some more digging as to what he was up to.
