When school was let out for a short winter break, Dad decided to take Mal and me to Mount Olympus to meet our half-siblings. I fidgeted nervously with my dress as we sat in the limo, the ember in my hand. My hair was on fire, but the flame was very dim. Hadie had already met them and was currently living with Persephone.

"You're going to be fine. Stop being nervous," Dad said quietly.

Mal's hair was turning blue. When we arrived, it was blue with little strands of purple.

"They're just your half-brother and half-sister, remember that. It's not like they're king and queen of the whole kingdom," Dad reminded us as we got out.

I nodded silently and smoothed my dress, taking deep breaths. I handed the ember to Dad and my hair fell to my face. His hair lit on fire and I felt some sort of relief with Dad having the ember.

We walked down a couple streets and then knocked on a cottage that seemed too small. A beautiful woman answered the door and hugged Dad. Her red hair was decorated with black flowers, and a black dress flowed against her body.

"Hello Lady Mal, Miss (Y/n). Would you like to come in?" she offered.

"Of course," Mal said, smiling sweetly.

The woman, whom I assumed to be Persephone, stepped aside and Dad walked in with Mal following behind him. I followed behind the two and Persephone led us into the living room. I sat up straight in a lounge chair as Mal and Dad sat on a plush couch.

"Melinoe, Zagreus, come down please!"

A girl, Melinoe, came waltzing down the stairs in a white dress with a black belt. There was an armband around her left arm. Her white hair flowed gracefully past her shoulders. Whispers were floating around her, her minions since she was the goddess of ghosts.

"Lady Mal, (Y/n). Pleasure," Melinoe said in a creepy, wispy tone. It was almost a resemblance of windchimes.

A man came down, wearing an outfit that showed his name was Zagreus. Only the god of hunting would wear dog skulls on his shoulder. A wreath of red, orange, and yellow leaves was tangled into his navy-blue hair. A belt of skulls was wrapped around his waist. Two gold bands sat on his left forearms.

His eyes were creepy at first glance, with the left being green and the right being red.

"Hello. I am Zagreus," he introduced himself, shaking our hands.

"Nice to meet you," I replied.

"Where is Hadie?" Persephone asked.

"He is out, with friends," Zagreus spoke slowly.

I could tell he was over-confident with everything he did. Melinoe was eerie, the complete opposite of her brother. Now I understood why Mal and I were so different; it depended on what we were to become. Mal was the princess of darkness, and I was the heir to the Underworld. And we were raised with such titles.

"I heard some of my friends say that you are here to talk about who is going to get the throne after they turn eighteen," Melinoe said with a fake smile.

"That is actually what I'm here to talk about," Dad started, clearing his throat. "The two of you don't know this. (Y/n) was born with most of my powers, but doesn't have any of her own except those of her mother."

Melinoe turned to me. "Like what?"

"I can control fire, Mom's side allows me to turn into a dragon but only when I go past the point of being angry," I explained calmly.

"So, when (Y/n) was born, I decided to write to King Beast and told him that she is going to be the heir to the throne," Dad finished.

Melinoe's calm demeanor changed to one that was completely angry. "What?! But father, (Y/n) isn't even eighteen yet! Zagreus is turning three hundred and eighteen in a couple days."
