Looking back at yesterday
I thought I gave it everything
But still there's so much road ahead of me
When I looked into your eyes
I guess I didn't recognize
Who we are and all that we can be
Sometimes it's hard to find yourself
But it's worth it in the end
'Cause in your heart is where it all begins
We gotta be bold
We gotta be brave
We gotta be free
We gotta get loud
Making that change
You gotta believe (whoa)
We'll look deep inside
And we'll rise up and shine
We can be bold
We can be brave
Let everyone see
It starts with you and me (whoa, whoa, hey)
It starts with you and me (whoa, whoa, hey)
It starts with you and me
There's something special that I've learned
It's together we can change the world
Everybody's got something that they can bring
When you take a look inside yourself
Do you wish that you were something else?
But who you are is who you need to be
Sometimes it's hard to find yourself
But it's worth it in the end
'Cause in your heart is where it all begins
We gotta be bold
We gotta be brave
We gotta be free
We gotta get loud
Making that change
You gotta believe (whoa)
We'll look deep inside
And we'll rise up and shine
We can be bold
We can be brave
Let everyone see
It starts with you and me (whoa, whoa, hey)
It starts with you and me (whoa, whoa, hey)
It starts with you and me
We all can do a part
We know that it can be the start
To bring about the difference that we need (yeah)
I promise we can work this out
I promise we can see it through
Don't you know it's up to me
It's up to me and you
We gotta be bold
We gotta be brave
We gotta be free
We gotta get loud
Making that change
You gotta believe (whoa)
We'll look deep inside
And we'll rise up and shine
We can be bold
We can be brave
Let everyone see
It starts with you and me (whoa, whoa, hey)
It starts with you and me (whoa, whoa, hey)
It starts with you and me (whoa, whoa, hey)
It starts with you and me (whoa, whoa, hey)
It starts with you and me
As the night ended, Mal, the gang, and I were the last ones on the boat, looking out onto the Isle. Mal stood next to me as she looked down at the water. Her green eyes were bright and wide. She did look like herself, like her roots; a villain.
"I'm sorry Jay kidnapped you. I shouldn't have assumed that you wanted to come to Auradon," Mal apologized. "But, isn't it nice?" Mal sighed, noticing I didn't have a reaction. "Don't you want to stay?"
"As much as this party was... eventful, my family is on the Isle," I reasoned. "I understand you felt pity for me. But I am happier than ever on the Isle."
"Give me a call when you miss me," Mal teased.
I hit her arm gently. "Sure. Give me a call when you miss your roots."
Ben joined Mal, holding her waist. "I'll drive back with you tomorrow."
"You stay here with your lady," I replied. "I'm still feared on the Isle."
I was put in handcuffs by order of Beast. I scowled at him as I walked by him getting into the limo. Typical. The reformed villain of the story locking up the villains. Maybe it was to clear his image, considering he kidnapped a woman and forced her to stay. Most just assumed it was for safety. If he actually knew us, there would be no need for cuffs.
When I got to the Chip Shoppe, I strutted up to the door. I grinned when I walked in.
"I'm back," I said, mocking Mal for her entrance.
"(Y/n)!"
In a flash, a person in red scooped me up and hugged me tightly. I giggled, recognizing the ruffled dark brown hair and the cold metal pressing against my back. He peppered my face with kisses, eventually landing on my lips as the Shoppe cheered. Their right-hand woman was back.
And I was there to stay forever.
