I whipped around, grinning when I saw her. She looked beautiful, and the ember was in her hand glowing bright blue. Umna held the ember out to me. I walked up to her. She pulled me in for a hug. When I pulled away, she hit my shoulder lightly.

Harry grinned. "Welcome back!"

Gil frowned. "Uma. You swam off and forgot all about us."

"Yeah, planning revenge, no doubt," Mal said.

"It's not all about you, Mal," Uma said. "I was looking for a hole in the barrier. To let everybody out. And you know what I found, boys? It's way better out there than we thought. There's this thing that looks like a furry rock called a coconut. And fish so big, you can dance on their backs! And they think they can get it all for themselves?"

"Whatever. Uma, we need that to break a spell," Mal said, holding out her hand.

"Cast by Audrey, Sleeping Beauty's daughter," Carlos added.

"Hm. So the good guy's the bad guy?" Uma asked.

"Exactly!" I agreed.

She smiled and nodded. "Well, I might not give it back. See what happens."

"Uma, I don't have time for games. People's lives are in danger!" Mal yelled at her.

Uma walked closer to the edge. "Guarantee me that every villain kid who wants to can get off the island."

"I can't do that," Mal replied, lowering her voice.

"Okay," she said in annoyance, holding the ember over the water. "Well, how 'bout now?"

"Deal!" Mal immediately shouted. "Deal," she said, calmer this time.

Uma faked dropping it into the water and I almost snickered at Mal's reaction. Uma smiled at me and handed me the ember. My hair lit up again and I gave it back to her quickly, making my hair go back to normal.

"I really think you should keep it unless you want me to accidentally burn something," I insisted.

She shrugged and tucked it into her necklace.

"Really, (Y/n)? You're trusting her?" Mal questioned.

I almost scoffed at her words. Even if things were better than when she left, it wasn't like I was close to her. "I trusted her for six months, Mal. She was the sister that you never were. I trust her plenty, just like she trusts me."

Harry put a hand on my shoulder, rubbing his thumb on my shoulder blade, and I immediately calmed down at his soothing touch. Mal noticed me relax and looked at me questioningly. Jay glared daggers at Harry, which only made Harry grin more. I wondered if he was only doing it to get a rise out of Jay, but his touch was loving.

"This is a job for pirates. Don't you think, (Y/n)?" Uma asked innocently.

"Absolutely," I replied.

"We could always go back to hating each other when this is over," Jay said not-so-quietly to Mal.

I rolled my eyes.

Jay turned to Harry, suddenly angry. "Where are our bikes?" he asked.

"Oh, yeah. We crashed them," Gil said with a smile while Harry imitated what happened. Harry laughed at Jay's expression as I hit him on the arm lightly. Harry grabbed his bicep, rubbing the spot while pretending to be hurt. Uma smiled, almost happy to see Harry and I were still dating. Harry looked into my eyes, trying to look hurt.

"Ouch, princess," Harry said dramatically.

"Oh, please. Uma's hit you harder than that during training," I said.

"Here's a thought. We could try to be friends. Put our history behind us and celebrate our differences. Yeah? Who wants gum?" Evie asked, shaking a bag of blueberry bubble gum.

Let's go," Uma said, starting to walk away.

"Ah." Mal stopped her. "No, I'm in charge. Let's go."

Uma and I both rolled our eyes at her and I followed behind Uma next to Harry.
