Chapter twenty-one: Broken inside

You: "And you're correct... I heard your conversation this morning..."

Everyone stared at me with a blank expression. All of them, except Jin. His hand reached for his hair, ruffling in it with a frustrated sigh. 

Jin: "Of course you heard us..."

Yoongi: "Do you know how worried we were? Do you know what time it is?"

Namjoon: "Where were you? You can't ditch school like that."

You: "I had something to do..."

J-hope: "You could've at least text or call us to inform us about your plans."

Taehyung: "What was even so important?"

You: "I had to talk things out between me and..."

I couldn't even finish my sentence or Jimin had interrupted me already.

Jimin: "With Lucas right? We could've guessed you were with him."

You: "Yah! Don't try to change the subject. What I heard this morning..."

Jungkook: "Does it even matter? We all know that you like Lucas."

J-hope: "You told us earlier  that you are unsure about your feelings towards Lucas. But you all made us clear that you like him. Even though you haven't figured it out for yourself."

You: "Do you want to know why I was with Lucas? I finally realized what I felt towards him because of a conversation I had with Yeeun."

The silence was nerve breaking in between my sentences. If they could they would just cover their ears from my words. Of course they didn't do that and listened carefully to every word I said. They wanted to hear everything, even if it would hurt them.

You: "I told Lucas that I'm not in love with him. I can only see him as a good friend."

Jin: "You don't like him? For real?"

You: "I don't like him."

I could hear some relieved sigh when I confirmed Jin's question. It almost seems like those words took weight off their shoulders. 

Jungkook: "How did he react?"

You: "He took it well to be honest. He was sad of course, that's normal when you get rejected. But at the end he understood."

Yoongi: "About what you heard this morning... You shouldn't have found out like that."

You: "I know. I'll try to forget it..."

Taehyung: "Don't... Don't try to forget what you've heard. Don't try, please."

You: "What should I do then? Isn't forgetting the best option right now?"

My question didn't get a response, only silence. What do they want from me? Isn't it better if I forget what I heard this morning? Isn't this situation awkward? Not only for me but also for them because they like the same girl. 

You: "Don't you find it awkward now?"

And yet again nobody said a word to me. No one made eye contact with me. Some of them stared at the ground and others were looking somewhere else, avoiding my form completely. 

You: "Let me know when you have an answer on those questions. I'm going upstairs now."

J-hope: "Shouldn't you eat something before you head upstairs?"
