The three napped on and off for the rest of the afternoon, still wiped from the day before. The boys helped Victoria set up the fold out couch with blankets and pillows so they had somewhere to rest. She had offered them her bed and for her to take the couch, but they declined immediately.

Before leaving to go to the pub, they all got changed so they didn't look so casual. Victoria put on her high waisted black jeans, and a slouchy grey top that hung low off one shoulder. She put on her black ankle boots to give her some added height, and did her hair and makeup. Murphy wore black jeans with a grey t-shirt that clung to him in all the right places. Connor wore dark blue jeans and a black t-shirt with long sleeves, making his biceps look very impressive. Victoria kept having to remind herself to not be a weirdo and stare at them.

By 8PM, they were at the bar, and the boys were immediately swarmed by patrons as usual. While they greeted everyone, Victoria pushed through the crowd to go and sit at the bar. Doc appeared in front of her, a smile on his face.

"Victoria, what a nice surprise." He said, leaning on the bar. "Did ye come with the boys?"

She nodded, happily soaking in the warmth and familiar atmosphere of the pub. "Yeah. Don't come here on my days off very often."

Doc chuckled and glanced down at her wrists, the smile on his face fading instantly. Her stomach dropped, having forgot that she would have to do some explaining.

"What..." Doc began to say, his voice low.

"I'll explain when those two are done with their hellos." She quickly said, leaning towards him. "Everything is fine, though."

Doc held his gaze on her, clearly still expecting the worst. The two of them waited for Connor and Murphy to hurry up and get over to the bar. They finally made their way through everyone, big smiles on their faces, and sat down either side of Victoria.

"How's it goin', Doc?" Connor asked with a giant smile, his voice loud.

"Beers!" Murphy called out, an identical smile on his face.

Doc didn't smile. He looked at both the boys, his face serious. It was rare anyone saw him like this. The boys noticed the tension and dropped their smiles.

"Care to explain why Victoria's wrists look like this?" He asked, gesturing at her arms as she sat between them feeling guilty.

The two of them glanced at each other, exchanging unspoken words, before Connor stood up and leant across the bar. "It was the guys from the bar last night. Found out where we all lived."

Doc's face reddened with anger. "What did they do to ye?" He asked Victoria, his expression panicked.

"Doc, I'm fine." She quickly said, wanting to assure him as fast as possible.

"We took care of 'em." Connor continued, his voice low so other patrons couldn't overhear. "They're dead. We're all fine." Connor could act immature at times, but he had an aura of authority about him most of the time. Now was one of those times.

Doc was quiet in thought for a moment. The three of them had their eyes locked on him, waiting to see how he'd respond. "Why did they involve her?"

Connor dropped his gaze to the bar and sighed. "To get at us."

"That was their mistake." Murphy spoke up, agitation in his voice. Murphy also carried an aura of authority, but it was different. It wasn't as calm as his brother's.

Connor shot him a warning look, as if he was telling him to shut up. He looked back at Doc, desperate to convince him. "We're all fine, Doc. We'd never let anythin' happen to her." Victoria felt her heart swell slightly at his words.
