Victoria's injuries improved as time went on, but she found herself having a difficult time moving on from being fearful about being alone. She was yet to be given the clear to go back to work, so Doc would call in every few days to check in on her. Connor and Murphy had not returned to their normal work or their work as the Saints, either. They had felt fearful of leaving her too, especially not knowing who had attacked her in the first place.
Victoria was relieved when she no longer had to bandage up her torso, and could slowly dress herself again. She had been so grateful for how respectful the boys had been when helping her; as hard as times had been, the attack had brought the three of them so much closer.
Connor and Murphy had both asked Victoria if she would like them to move in with her indefinitely for her safety. She had admitted to them that she had been wanting to ask them to, but felt like it was too big of an ask. The twins were happy to keep sleeping on the fold out couch, but there were nights that Victoria would ask them to sleep in her bed, still fearful of being alone.
"Would you guys be open to getting a drink tonight?" Victoria asked the brothers as they lounged around on the fold out couch together.
Connor, laying down with his legs over Victoria's lap, looked up at her in surprise. "Ye mean at Doc's?"
She nodded, smiling at his reaction. "Yeah. It's been ages."
Murphy, who was sitting next to her with an arm slung over her shoulders, muted the TV. "Are ye sure ye feel well enough to?"
"Yeah. It doesn't have to be a huge night, right?" She said. "Surely you guys are sick of being stuck in here with me."
Connor shook his head. "Nah. But, I'm happy to go as long as ye feel okay."
"Aye. Don't push yerself." Murphy agreed.
"Just a chill night. It'll be fun." She said, grinning at both of them.
For the rest of the afternoon, Connor and Murphy watched Victoria as she slowly made her way around the house, getting herself ready. At first they had been worried about her going out, but they liked seeing her excited about something. At around 7PM, Victoria stepped into the lounge room wearing black leggings, and an oversized grey hoodie, with white sneakers. She had done her makeup and her hair was in loose waves.
"Do I look okay like this? Or is it too chill?" She asked the twins.
Both boys simply smiled at her, feeling like their girl was on her way back to normal.
"Perfect, love." Connor said, getting to his feet.
The trio left their apartment and made their way down to the bar, on foot. They walked a bit slower than usual, but once they made it there, they were greeted with what seemed like the biggest cheers they had ever received. Victoria was overwhelmed with most of them being for her. At first, Connor and Murphy were protective of her, worried that people would be too excited, or hug her too tightly. But they saw that everyone was being very gentle with her, knowing that she was still in pain. It had been too hard to keep what happened a secret; she hadn't been to work in so long and people had wanted to know where she was.
Doc was the last person to give Victoria a long, caring hug. "It's so good to see ye, my darlin'."
"It's good to be back." Victoria said, smiling up at him.
"I hope those two have been lookin' after ye." He said, walking back behind the bar to pour them drinks.
She sat down, Connor and Murphy sitting either side of her, and nodded. "I couldn't have survived without them, Doc."
