After leaving the plane and gathering their suitcases, the trio were on their way towards the Irish country side in a cab. Victoria eagerly took in the views that sped past them as they drove, now feeling very awake and excited. Even Connor and Murphy were feeling more relaxed and excited than they had in a long time. The cab came to a cobblestone road and slowed down as it approached a two story house, surrounded by large trees. The homes around it looked very similar to it.

"Is... is this your home?" Victoria asked, a large smile on her face.

"Aye. We grew up here. It's nothing special, but we like it." Connor replied.

The cab stopped in the driveway in front of the home. The trio got out, grabbed their suitcases from the trunk, and walked up to the front door as the cab drove away.

Victoria felt her heart start pounding, worried about the first impression she was about to leave on the boy's Ma. "Guys? What if she doesn't like me?"

The boys turned to her, looks of disbelief on their faces.

"She's gonna love ye, Tor." Connor said, excitement in his voice. "How could she not?"

"Aye. No more worryin'." Murphy agreed, throwing his arm over her shoulders.

Connor knocked on the door loudly, not allowing Victoria to get cold feet.

"I'm comin'!" A woman shouted out from inside. "I'm not buyin' any shit."

They listened to the door unlocking from the other side, and then watched it swing open, revealing a short, plump woman, with long, wild grey hair that was pulled back into a messy bun. A cigarette hung from the side of her mouth, and she wore a dress that reached her ankles.

"Ma!" Both boys exclaimed, giant smiles on their faces.

Their mother stood there with wide eyes, looking somewhat bewildered. "What the fuck are ye two doin' here?"

"Don't sound so excited to see us." Connor laughed. "We wanted to surprise ye!"

"Aren't ye happy, mother?" Murphy asked, his grin not faltering.

"Get inside, ye brats. Yer lettin' the cold in." She ordered, stepping back from the door so the trio could walk in. Once they were all inside with the door shut, she turned to them, her eyes on Victoria. "And who's this lass?"

"Ma, this is Victoria. We've told you about her, we've been livin' with her." Murphy explained, his arm still over her shoulders. "Tor, this is our Ma, Annabelle."

Victoria smiled at her, trying to mask her nervousness. "It's so nice to finally meet you."

"Ah, yer the poor girl who's been havin' to put up with these two." She said, plucking the cigarette out of her mouth with her fingers. "The boys love to talk about ye."

"Do they, now?" Victoria said, looking up at Connor and Murphy with a smirk.

"Well come through, come through." Annabelle said, ushering them through to the dining room, which was right next to the kitchen. "Now, I don't know where ye boys were planning on having this poor girl sleep. You know the guest room only has the one bed."

"Ye happy to share?" Murphy asked, looking down at Victoria. "Connor and I can sleep on the floor, if not."

"Of course." Victoria replied, having become perfectly comfortable with sharing a bed with them both. She thought Annabelle would look at them with confusion or judgement, but she seemed perfectly indifferent.

"Well, how 'bout ye boys take her upstairs and show her 'round? I'm expectin' someone in about an hour, so go get settled." Annabelle said, walking behind the kitchen counter and opening a bottle of scotch.
