Remus
Sept 1, 1971

Remus entered Kings Cross station with his mum and dad, excited to finally go to a real school. His mum walked with him and his dad until they neared platforms 9 and 10. He hugged her good bye, and then his dad told him how to get through to the platform.

They ran towards the wall between platforms 9 and 10, and soon found themselves on the magical platform 9 3/4.

Remus's dad helped him find a compartment, and helped him store his luggage, and then hugged him goodbye.

Remus sat alone in his compartment, and broke out his book, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

About 20 minutes later, minutes before the train was to pull out, an athletic boy about Remus's height who looked about his age with a mess of jet black hair and square glasses, stuck his head into Remus's compartment.

"Do you mind if me and my friend Peter join you? Everywhere else is full of older students." The messy haired boy asked.

"Sure," Remus replied, glad to meet some boys his own age.

The messy haired boy came into the compartment and sat down. He was followed by a shorter, stockier boy with neat blond hair.

"Hi, I'm James. James Potter." The messy haired boy introduced himself as he stuck out his hand.

"Nice to meet you, James. I'm Remus. Remus Lupin." Remus introduced himself as he took James's hand.

James bumped the boy next to him with his elbow. "Introduced yourself, Pete." He said.

"Hi Remus, I'm Peter. Peter Pettigrew." The blond boy said timidly.

"It's good to meet you too, Peter. Are you guys first years as well?" Remus asked.

"Yeah, we are." James answered.

"Did your parents go to Hogwarts?" Remus asked.

"Yep! My family has gone to Hogwarts as many generations as anyone can remember. All Gryffindors. Pete's family has too, minus the odd squib. How about you?" James explained.

"My dad went to Hogwarts, and I know at least his parents did too. But my mum isn't magical." Remus answered.

"Ah, so your a half blood." James observed.

"Yeah, why does that matter?" Remus asked.

"It doesn't, but it means you know more about muggle stuff than we would." James answered.

Another boy with neatly cut black hair poked his head into the compartment just as the train was pulling out.

"Mind if I join you?" He asked practically sitting down before anyone had answered.

"Sure!" James answered enthusiastically. "My name is James. James Potter."

"Potter, aye. My dad told me to stay away from you. That probably means I'll like you." The other boy with dark hair answered. "Where are my manners? I'm Sirius."

Sirius shook James's hand, and turned to Remus.
"I'm Remus. Remus Lupin." Remus said extending a hand to Sirius.

"Nice to meet you, Remus." Sirius said as he took Remus's hand, and their eyes met.

"Um, Hi, Sirius, I'm Peter Pettigrew." Peter said.

Sirius shook Peter's hand. "Pleasure to meet you, Peter."

The boys talked and got to know each other over the course of the train ride. Then, they finally arrived at Hogwarts. They rode in boats across the lake, with Hagrid, the groundskeeper. Then they entered into the grand entrance hall of the castle. A woman entered in long purple robes. She had sleek dark brown hair tied into a tight bun.
