Harry

Purple, pink, blue lights.

Green, yellow explosions, glitter everywhere.

Smiles, laughs. Deafening music, voices.

The smell of perfume, alcohol, smoke, sweat.

The entire room was turning when Harry woke up. His ears ringing while his view was still flickering from last night. His mom's wake-up calls feel distant.

He pulled the blanket up over his head, the lights were too bright, his body way too tired to get up. Last night was still laying heavy in his bones. There was no way that he'd make it out of this bed.

A few seconds passed in which Harry drifted off into light sleep again, when a knock on his door woke him straight back up. He moaned in annoyance.

"Harry, get up! Mom called four times already", it was Liam's voice coming from the other side of the door, followed by the sound of his doorknob turning.

"You're still in bed?!"

Not long after he could feel the warmth of his blanket leave. He pressed his face deeper into the pillow, "go away"

"We're gonna get in trouble because of you" he could hear Liam walk over to his nightstand, "don't make me body slam you". Harry turned his head to his right, one eye open so that he could see his brother who tried to look serious about his threat.

"Five minutes, okay?" Harry mumbled in response, closing his eye again.

"Two, at best. Just, get up... and put some damn clothes on!"

"Yeah, yeah"

The sound of the door closing just moments later signalized to him that Liam had left again. He really didn't wanna go to school, but what options did he have? Act sick so his mother would let him stay home? Liam wouldn't tell on him, though there were only so many days Harry could pretend to be sick before his parents would drag him to the doctor's office only to be told everything was fine. Or he could get ready, go to school for the first class and then ditch the rest. His mom and dad wouldn't know the difference between whether he spent the day in school or at home as long as they saw him leave the house. They'd be working till late in the afternoon.

"Harry! Liam! We're waiting on you!"

Yeah, he definitely should get up. He'd use his free sick days further into the school year.

A decision he'd questioned once he had sat up and the room started to spin again. He was freezing, his skin was covered in goosebumps. Sweat on his forehead. He closed his eyes, hoping it'd stop soon.

Eventually, everything slowed down again so he stood up and put his blanket back on his bed. On his way to the bathroom, his stomach suddenly told him to move a little quicker. Just as he had reached the toilet the rest of last night's fluids and food emptied into it.

It had been around 4 in the morning when he had climbed back into the house. He had been tired, worn out by staying up all night, by the rally, school. To his surprise, though he had still managed to stay up long enough to remove the colored nails, the make-up, and all of his clothes before falling into bed, asleep before his head had hit the pillow.

Harry sighed as he flushed the toilet. Maybe he should've stayed home.

Well, no.

A couple of hours in this other world were worth it. They always were.

He washed out his mouth and brushed his teeth. As he picked up the leftover make-up wipes from the floor, he heard another knock on his door.

"Coming!", he quickly called and made his way back into his room. Liam's choice of clothes for the day already waiting for him. He got dressed and made sure he hadn't forgotten anything, before taking his backpack and leaving his room.
