Driving home from the school after the meeting with the gorgeous Hakeem Emily's thoughts were consumed of him. She tried not to remember those dreamy light brown eyes that lite up when he agreed with her idea or those soft lips that curved up into a smile to show those dimples he had. And oh don't get her started with his masculine scent as she went past him. He smelled like musk with a woodsy tint to it. Being around him seemed like trouble so she needed to limit her contact with him. And forget the way he called her name. That voice of his could make any heart flutter.

Turning her radio up she decided to listen to the song that was playing.

Baby can you stand the rain. Will you be there girl. Storms will come for sure. Can you stand the rain

Emily loved listening to old school R&B music. There was just a lot of meaning to it than some of the music played now a days. She's not sure how the students love the music but they had their taste and she had hers. Pulling into a small parking lot in a condo building area where her mother lived she parked her car. Her mother Heather Fields took care of her son while she was at work. She didn't mind watching her grand-baby because that gave her more time to spend with him.

Heather Watson is a divorced woman but she is still friends or cordial with her ex-husband. Sure it's weird and it's sad things didn't work out between them but at least they can still be around each other for family functions and supporting Emily as a single mother. Heather felt bad that Jeremiah didn't have his father in his life and wondered if Emily will start dating again. Being a retired woman, Heather had time to do whatever she wanted and one thing in her list is to find her daughter a man.

Walking up the narrow pathway to her mother's condo she rang the doorbell before the door opened. Standing in front of her with a big smile on her face was her mother. She was a shorter woman in her late 50's. But you couldn't tell because she aged beautifully. Her black hair was pulled back into a bun and she had a light amount of make-up on. She was dressed in a pink floral shirt with cropped sleeves and jeans with her black apron tied around her waist.

"Hey sweetie come on in, Jay is in the other room playing with his toys" her mother stepped aside to let Emily in. Jay was a little nickname her mother gave her son.

Walking into the living room she could smell cookies being baked in the oven. Her mother loved to bake and taught her how to bake at a young age. Emily enjoyed it as a past time to relieve stress. Hearing toy cars and a robot toy making its sounds in her mothers bedroom made Emily smile at the fact he was having fun at his nana's house.

"Jeremiah mommy's here" Emily called out to her son from the living room.

A little boy with a huge grin on his face came running out of the other room and jumped into his mother's arms.

"Mommy!" the boy smiled as he hugged her.

"Hey sweetie did you have fun with nana?" Emily asked as she went over to the couch and sat down with her son in her arms.

"Mmhmm nana made me cookie" her son said and rambled on and on about what he did today.

Emily just sat there and smiled knowing Jeremiah always has fun with his nana. Although she couldn't understand everything he was saying she just nodded and laughed. Oh gosh he's going to be a chatterbox when he is older, Emily thought to herself.

"Jay go pick up your toys and get ready to go home" her mother said before going into the kitchen.

Following her mom into the kitchen she decided to take a warm chocolate chip cookie off of the plate to eat.

"So how is work sweetie?" her mom asked as she put another batch of cookies in the oven.

"Work is good mom, just a few students that play sports i need them to keep their grades up"
