The New Man

Chapter 14

Summer started turning into fall the more it got into the month of September. So far the school year hasn't had much trouble and the football team have been improving in school and on the field. Today was Saturday and Emily loved the weekend so she could stay home and relax with her son. Once breakfast was over they sat in the living room and watched Nick Jr for most of the morning and part of the afternoon. If it wasn't for her son she would not even dared turn to the kiddie shows but as time has gone on she grew to like some of the shows he enjoyed watching. Looking down on the other side of the couch Emily watched her son fall asleep after the fourth episode of Bubble Guppies went off. Emily grabbed her son and took him to the room so he could take his afternoon nap. Not wanting to wake him she took a book she started to read in her spare time and left the room to find somewhere quiet to read. 

Hakeem had been MIA since breakfast and Emily wondered where he was. Hearing a lawn mower rumble outside Emily walked over to the window to see Hakeem riding across the lawn on his ride lawn-mower. Her breath caught noticing how he wasn't wearing a shirt and had shorts on as the sun beat down on him. His brown skin glistened with sweat as he maneuvered the mower effortlessly around his yard. When the mower stopped and Hakeem stepped off of it Emily quickly moved from the window not know how long she had been staring at the man. 

Sitting on the couch she opened the book and tried her best to read what was happening next in the story. In the book she was reading the two main characters were engaging in a small love affair not making any commitments or promises of forever but just now. She read on as the man was dominating the woman capturing her lips as they engaged in a mind-blowing kiss. Emily stopped reading as she placed the book to her chest as memories of the kiss Hakeem and her shared in his kitchen a few days ago made her body grow warm and her lips tingle. Not hearing the back door open as Hakeem stepped into his air conditioned home he walked into the kitchen to grab a bottle of water from the fridge before going up to take a shower.

Hakeem walked out of the kitchen and past the living room only to stop and look at Emily who seemed to be staring off into space about something while holding a book. Walking more into the living room Hakeem asked "Everything okay Emily."

Emily jumped and dropped her book losing her page when Hakeem approached her. Hakeem gave her a confused look after seeing how startled she was. She gave him a small smile and told him, "I'm fine just was reading a book."

Hakeem walked over and picked the book up before Emily could and looked at the cover then read the back of the book. As she waited for him to finish reading she took that time to look at him. Her eyes traveled from his head to his toes. His high cheek bone structure was covered in stubble making it known he needed to shave soon. His rock solid body was so toned his abs showed just how much he worked out as the v lines near his waist showed too. His strong thighs and legs under his shorts made her quiver at the sight of them.

"Hmm this sounds like an interesting book. Two people having a no-strings attached love affair. Sounds fun." Hakeem smiled seductively as he handed the book back to Emily.

After taking a swig of water Hakeem looked around his living room and wondered where Jeremiah was. "Where's Jeremiah?" 

"He's taking a nap. His favorite tv shows wore him out." Emily said with a small laugh and shrugged.

"Oh okay well i'm going to go shower. I probably smell like sweat and the outdoors." Hakeem laughed.

"Well i'll let you get to that." she said while trying to look away and not stare at him.

Hakeem smiled and turned to go to his room to shower. He felt Emily's eyes on him the whole time he was reading the back of her book. More than once he wanted to toss the book aside and kiss he senselessly on his couch not even caring how he smelled. The only thing he wanted was her as he tried to keep his body under control. He needed to clear his head and thoughts of what they have shared so far and one way to do that was take a cold shower. Of course the other way to make things better and stop torturing himself was to have Emily in his bed. He hasn't made love to a woman in over five years. That could do damage for a man as sexual frustration can occur and man was he frustrated sexually. Living under the same roof with Emily was making him lose his mind. Just thinking that she is down the hall from his room sleeping doesn't make matters easy. Plus sitting across the table from her sharing a meal is something that should be normal but he still gets hot just watching her eat her food.
