Chapter 19

Jason sped down the streets toward his office. Hearing that Emily wants nothing to do with him upsets him very much. Was the girl blind? He couldn't believe that she would take Hakeem over him. Hakeem was a nobody compared to him. Jason gripped his steering wheel getting more and more upset from their conversation. He needed a plan to turn Emily against Hakeem and have her back in his arms. She didn't even give him a chance before falling for the gardener. Landscaping was not a real job to him. Jason shook his head thinking why give up a man who is a highly paid lawyer for a man that mows lawns for a living. That thought made him laugh that Hakeem was nothing to him not even a threat. Pulling into his parking spot he walked through the office building to get to his office. Sitting in his leather office chair he turned back and forth thinking of a way to get Emily back but getting rid of Hakeem at the same time. What is something that is dear to Hakeem that will push him over the edge. The company he is over was on thing he could think of but he needed more information. 

Turning on the laptop on his desk Jason went into the government files used for processing cases. Although he was only suppose to use it for work related things but he needed information. Also he thought about Emily's son. Who was the kid's father and why isn't he in his life? Deciding to search Emily first he typed in her first and last name to look at her past records. The phone in his office beeped letting him know his secretary was on the line.

"Yes Wanda?" Jason asked pressing the speakerphone button while still searching for information.

"Sir you have Tim Green on the line wanting to know about the upcoming case." Wanda said on the line.

"Tell him I will call him back. And clear out my schedule for the next couple of days I have some things to take care of and will be out of the office." Jason said before grabbing a notebook to take notes.

"Yes sir. And i'll let Mr. Green know you will reschedule with him." Wanda said before clicking over to speak with Tim Green who was patiently waiting on hold.

Clicking the speaker phone button again to turn it off Jason turned his attention back to his computer screen.

"Emily Watson born September 25th. Has an older brother and parents are divorced. Has a son name Jeremiah who is three." Jason repeated the information aloud as he read off of the screen. Clicking a link he went to a hospital records site where he could find information on babies that were born there.

Jason typed in Emily Watson as the patient at the hospital to see if he find out for information about who the father could be. Finding a match to the information he previous found on her a name was next to hers on the site. Lewis Kenton. 

"Hmm so her son's father is named Lewis Kenton. Looks like I need to set up an appointment with him to get more information about his relationship with Emily." Jason smiled before looking up information specifically a phone number to call Lewis.

Searching through different sites he a couple of numbers to men named Lewis Kenton in the area. Giving the first two numbers a call, one was disconnected and the other didn't pick up. The last number he  tried rang about three times before a man with a guff voice answered.

"Hello?" the man answered with an agitated tone.

"Hello is this Lewis Kenton?" Jason asked hoping this was finally the right person.

"Who's asking?" The man asked skeptical to give out any information about himself.

"My name is Jason Young. I know Emily Watson. So is this Lewis Kenton?" Jason asked again as his patience was starting to go away.

"Yes but how do you know Emily?" Lewis asked wondering why this man was calling him.

"I went out with her a couple of times and have met your son. Jeremiah right?" Jason was honest hoping maybe the fact that Emily has tried to move on without him would rub him the wrong way.
