—"Do you still have the tapes you stole?"
Jimin and Jungkook sat on a bench at the edge of the parking lot, the older of the two peeling the backing off of a bandaid he kept in his pocket. He let his question hang in the air for a moment, sticking the bandage onto a bleeding cut that had opened up on his face. When Jungkook didn't answer, he continued. "I'm on those, so I would rather you not be the one who keeps them."
Jungkook sighed. The tapes. Currently they resided in the same backpack that Jungkook keep all of his stolen cash in, shoved to the very back underneath Taehyung's bed. He had forgotten about them, to be honest, so it surprised him when Jimin brought them up.
"Yeah, I still have them." He answered, looking over at Jimin and watching his expression carefully. The bruises around his eye had darkened into a deep purple, and his busted lip was now dried up and scabbing. His expression was stoic. "I'll get rid of them, it's fine."
"No." Jimin shook his head, silver hair fluffing itself up as he did so. "I already said that I'm on them. It should be obvious enough that I want you to give them to me." He reached beside him to grab his hoodie, picking it up and pulling it over his head. Jimin grimaced once he was sure that the fabric was covered his face, aching muscles finally showing their true pain beneath the adrenaline.
Currently, they were waiting for Yoongi. Today was really just to gauge what Jungkook was actually capable of. If he wasn't able to beat him, Jimin probably would have forced him to hand over the tapes and then killed him.
Jungkook had surprised him though, and so now they waited for Yoongi to come pick them up due to their injuries.
"Well I don't have them with me right now." Jungkook stated obviously, kicking a few rocks around with his feet. "They're at my friend's house, so I'd have to go get them for you."
Jimin's eyes widened at Jungkook's words. The idea of evidence for his crime just sitting around in some teenager's house had the older male on the verge of freaking out. Almost every time Jungkook opened his mouth, Jimin regretted letting him live.
"Why the hell is it there?" He asked, staring down the younger male with an exasperated expression. "Do you not understand what happened?" Jimin leaned closer, and lowered his voice. "You and I, whether you want to believe it or not, did something very bad. We stole a lot of money. Which is a very big crime. Not to mention," He pointed at himself. "I have done this multiple times. If either of us gets caught, we're both fucked."
Jungkook swallowed thickly and nodded, the atmosphere around them so tense he was itching. "I don't know what you've done before, but I promise you - it will never get you in more trouble than being involved with me."
And with any other person, Jungkook would have burst out laughing, finding the words ridiculous.
Coming from Jimin though, he found himself believing them.
"I don't really have a home of my own." Jungkook finally replied, looking to the side and exhaling. "I got kicked out a few years ago, so Taehyung - my friend - has the only place I can really stay." He picked up a rock off of the ground, rolling it between his thumb and his pointer finger. "That's why the tapes are there."
Jimin observed him, watching as the younger boy tugged on his lip piercing with his teeth. It seemed to be a nervous habit, because Jimin had watched him do it quite a few times in the short time they had known each other. There was still blood dried at the corner of his mouth, yellow and blue bruises colouring the high point of his cheekbone. He still looked so youthful though, not quite grown out of the baby fat in his cheeks.
