It was well past four in the morning by the time that gasps and grabbing hands transformed into lazy kisses, then into soft pecks before they were finally rolling off of each other.
Jungkook's chest heaved, and he stared blankly at the ceiling as he tried to comprehend the situation he had found himself in. He could still feel Jimin's lips on his, and he brought his hand up to brush against his lips softly. It didn't feel real, his mind in a daze as he smoothed his thumb across his bottom lip.
"What are you thinking?" Jimin's soft words rang through the otherwise silent room. Jungkook turned his head to look at Jimin, coming face to face with the other male as they both lay on his bed.
"I don't know." Jungkook answered, pulling the sleeves of Jimin's sweater over his fingertips. In all truthfulness, he was thinking a million different thoughts at once - he just couldn't articulate them. He wanted to ask Jimin why he had kissed him, how long he had thought of him like that, but most importantly - "What now? What does this mean, for us?"
He watched as Jimin took in a shaky breath, gulping and looking away from Jungkook's eyes.
"I don't know." He admitted, picking at the fabric of his bedsheets nervously. "I told you I shouldn't have done it, because I didn't know what would come next if I did." Jimin's heart was still racing, and his skin still tingled on all of the places that Jungkook had touched. Succumbing to his desires, didn't satisfy the craving - it just made him want more. "I can't be your boyfriend, or anything like that."
He refused to look back up, because he knew that whatever expression Jungkook was making was one that would tug at his heartstrings.
"Then why did you kiss me like you were?" Jungkook's words made Jimin's heart stop, and he halted his actions where his fingers were fidgeting with his sheets still. Not looking at Jungkook's expression had been useless, because the words he spoke caused just as much damage.
Finally building up the courage to look back to Jungkook, he gulped when he took in the younger boy's features. He didn't look hurt, more confused and caught off guard. He searched Jimin's face for an answer, curling his fingers into fists.
"Because I needed to know what it would be like." Jimin answered softly, reaching forwards and brushing a few pieces of hair out of Jungkook's eyes. "Thinking about it just wasn't enough, I had to feel what it would be like." He smoothed his thumb against Jungkook's cheek, before running his hand down Jungkook's face and cupping it. "Doesn't mean that it was smart of me though."
Jungkook leaned into Jimin's touch, but his lips tugged down into a frown as he took in Jimin's words.
"You can't convince me that once was enough." He leaned closer, so close that the tips of their noses brushed against one another. "Are you really satisfied?"
No, he wasn't. He knew that, and Jungkook knew that, but it still didn't negate the fact that Jimin also knew that a relationship between them just wasn't something that could flourish under the circumstances they were in.
"Satisfied enough for now." Jimin whispered, his breath fanning against Jungkook's lips. The only thing he wanted right then was to pull him even closer than they already were, but he was restraining himself once again. "Believe me when I say Jungkook, that you don't want me like that."
Jungkook gulped, Jimin's hand resting on the back of his neck. "Partners, sure. But anything past that, and you'll just end up hating me in the end."
Jungkook brought his hand to rest on Jimin's hip, running his fingers against the curve of his waist. He just wanted to touch him all over, though if he thought about it too long his face would flush.
