its actually getting warm outside :,)))
—"I never had much, when I was younger."
Jimin and Jungkook had chosen to migrate to the older male's front porch. The atmosphere within the house had become far too weighed down with each other's emotions, and so a breath of fresh air was definitely welcomed. The wind was warm, but the leaves on the trees had all turned from green to shades of orange and gold - reminding Jungkook of how close his birthday was getting.
They both sat of the front step, watching Yoongi in the driveway as he lay underneath his car and inspected it. "It's not like I have a flashy, interesting come-up story because I really don't."
Jimin kicked a few rocks across the ground with his shoe, watching as it skittered away. Jungkook's eyes followed the path a pebble took until it rolled into the grass. "My family was just really poor growing up. My parents barely made enough to support themselves, and so I always found myself either going hungry or stealing something."
The sound of Yoongi working on his car and causing a variety of noises to ring through the air, saving the two of them from drowning in silence once more.
"Of course, after a long time of stealing and not getting caught you start to to think 'wow, I'm really good at this'." Jimin continued, Jungkook watching intently as he spoke. "The first time I had ever tested my skills was when I broke into a corner store overnight to get something to eat. Absolutely nothing compared to the adrenaline I felt when I got out unscathed."
Jimin's voice was calm, eyes trained on his older friend as he recounted his story to Jungkook. "That's really the reason I kept going. Every single time I stole something and didn't get caught for it, it just created more motivation to steal bigger and more expensive things."
"Yoongi told me that you do it for the thrill." Jungkook spoke softly, cold winds blowing past the both of them and ruffling their hair. Jimin nodded, a small smile forming on his face.
"He's right about that, I guess." The older male answered, watching as Yoongi slid back out from under his car - grease and dirt covering his hands and forearms. "I met Yoongi before I starting doing anything crazy like banks or jewelry stores. He's kind of gotten to see me evolve over the years, slowly getting more and more risky."
Jungkook looked up, watching as the man they spoke about walked towards them. Yoongi wiped his dirty hands on his blue jeans - immediately leaving stains behind.
"You talkin' about me?" He called over, pushing his glasses up to rest on the top of his head. He attempted to do this with the back of his hand to not get his face dirty, but failed miserably and ended up smearing oil on his cheek. "My ears were burning."
Jimin laughed softly, shaking his head and looking up at his older friend. No matter how much Yoongi denied it, they were partners in Jimin's mind.
"Maybe because you've been lying underneath a hot car for the past hour." Jimin responded, chuckling softly when Yoongi scoffed at his words.
Jungkook honestly hadn't even realized that Yoongi had returned back to the house after dropping the two of them off. It seemed that the raven haired male had gotten home and just immediately starting working on whatever was wrong with his car - not even bothering to come inside beforehand.
"It's going to be winter before we even know it, and then my baby will be parked for the season. I've got to do what I can, while I can." Jungkook couldn't help but chuckle softly when he watched Jimin roll his eyes at Yoongi's words.
His tiny reaction caused Yoongi to flick his gaze over to Jungkook instead, smiling softly as his eyes rested on the younger. Without even asking anything, he knew that Jimin had begun to open up to him. There was no longer a lingering fear in his eyes, and he didn't tense up or cower when Jimin moved suddenly. It was clear that they were more comfortable with each other.
