Jungkook was determined.

Jimin had given him an ultimatum. If he could shoot accurately and hit four out of the six bottles he had lined up, then they would finally talk out whatever was going on in Jimin's head. Before this, Jungkook had no desire to own or shoot a gun. Now, he was itching to try.

It was nerve wracking, and he gulped as he tried to keep his emotions hidden from Jimin. He wasn't good at shooting, nowhere near close to Jimin's level. If he was lucky, he felt like he could hit three bottles on a good day. Jimin didn't seem like he was in the mood to bargain, however, and so there really wasn't any other option for him to pick.

"What are the chances I actually have to use this?" He asked, waiting for Jimin to walk back over to him before he took the safety off of his gun and held it in the direction of the bottles.

"Haven't you asked me that before?" Jimin asked, raising an eyebrows and brushing his hands off on his jeans. "I told you, percentages don't matter when-"

"That's not what I mean." Jungkook cut off, closing one of his eyes as he tried to line up his line of fire with one of the bottles in front of him. "Like, out of all of the times you've robbed someone, would you say that it's common to have to resort to using this?" He waved his gun in the air.

Jimin sighed, crossing his arms over his chest and kicking a few rocks on the ground.

"It's not uncommon." He responded, watching as Jungkook gulped nervously. "Often times it's not even because of a threat to my life, it's just to keep my secrets safe." He paused. "Like you, nearly."

Jungkook nodded slowly, looking down at the gun in his hand and studying it. He wondered, could he really kill somebody if it really came down to it? Jimin could, Jimin had, but when Jungkook thought really hard about it he found himself feeling more and more anxious. To kill somebody so that the information they knew would die with them. It was scary to think about himself doing that.

"What's it like?" Jungkook asked softly, looking up to meet Jimin's gaze once more. "Killing someone. What does it feel like? From what you're telling me ? I'm probably ly going to have to do it, and so it might help to know what to expect, I guess."

Jimin opened his mouth, but then closed it again, swallowing whatever words he was about to speak. He didn't think about it often, mostly because if he did it would probably drive him mad. In all truthfulness though, Jimin didn't really know how it felt himself. His hands were stained with blood, and it was a fact he just couldn't ignore, but his mind locked away all the memories. Dwelling on the past would only make him weaker.

"Jungkook, I thought I told you to shoot the bottles." Jimin quipped, sighing softly and shaking out his hair. "Just because you changed the topic doesn't mean you're not still wasting time."

Jungkook shrugged, brushing a few pieces of hair out of his eyes. He knew that, but to be completely honest he was trying to stall a little bit. Jungkook wasn't extremely accurate with a gun, and he knew that, so he was trying to give himself as much time as possible to prepare.

"I know that." He huffed, raising his gun again and lining it up with the first bottle that was lined up. It was partially broken, and so the target was smaller, making Jungkook breathe out a shaky breath.

He placed his finger on the trigger, closing one of his eyes to try and make sure he was going to be accurate as possible. From his perspective it really seemed like he was actually going to shoot it dead on, and so he sunk his finger down into the trigger slowly - and a shot rang through the air.

The sound of a gunshot would never not be nerve wracking to Jungkook. Even if he expected it, even if it was coming from his own gun, he would still startle every single time.

With his fists, he had to put in a lot of effort do for a lot of damage. With a knife, he had to put in less effort, but still a lot. But with a gun, he felt like it was far too easy to kill somebody. It was far too easy for something to go wrong, and that's what made his skin crawl every single time.

Jungkook opened his eyes, looking up to see if he had made the shot or not.

He hadn't. It was disappointing, and his shoulders dropped once he realized that he hadn't succeeded in the first try. Jungkook knew that it wouldn't have been easy, but at the root of this issue was his desire to impress Jimin, and so he couldn't help but feel a bit let down.

"It was close." Jimin commented, raising his arm and pointing at the bullet hole in the wall behind the table.

Jungkook raised an eyebrow, eyes widening when he realized that Jimin was right. Behind the table, the was a bullet hole imbedded in the wall from Jungkook's missed shot. It wasn't far off though, Jungkook slowly becoming more confident with himself when he realized that his shot was only off by a few inches to the left. "Your accuracy isn't as bad as you think it is, your hands just shake because of your nerves and that makes your shots more unstable."

Jungkook nodded silently, looking down at the gun in his shaking hands. He was trembling slightly, like Jimin had observed, but he hadn't even realized he was found so before the older male had pointed it out. "Why do you get so scared every time a gun is involved?"

Jimin's question had Jungkook whipping his head in the older male's direction, expression hardened.

"I just don't like them." Jungkook answered shortly, breathing out a deep breath in an attempt to collect himself. The truth was more complicated than that, but simplifying it was a lot easier. "It's scary, having this much power in my hands."

"Why isn't it reassuring?" Jimin asked, leaning against a pillar next to him. "I understand why it's scary, but at the end of the day you have it to protect yourself." Jungkook looked troubled for a moment, but nodded nonetheless. "The only time you should be scared of your own gun is if somebody takes it from you."

He took a few steps closer, walking up to Jungkook. Jimin grabbed hold of Jungkook's hand - the one the held the gun - and aimed it at the second bottle. His hands were cold, making the younger male jolt slightly. "One day, this might be the only thing standing between you, and the end of your life. You should probably get more comfortable being around it."

The words weighed heavily on Jungkook's chest, but he knew that they were true. There were probably multiple times that Jimin only got out alive because of the weapon he carried. It was a tough pill for Jungkook to have to swallow.

He breathed out a deep breath, keeping his arm raised when Jimin slowly let go of his hand.

His hands were still trembling, but at this point he considered it as something to work around, and his steadied his posture. The second bottle wasn't broken, and so it was a bigger target for Jungkook to hit, which helped his confidence immediately.

A few second and a few deep breaths later, another shot was ringing through the abandoned building. This time though, it was accompanied by the sound of shattering glass.

Jungkook's eyes snapped open, excitement bubbling in his chest as he gazed upon the sight of a broken bottle still crumbling apart slowly on the table. Splintered pieces of green glass fell off the table and crumbled on the floor, clinking against the concrete.

He did it. He fired a shot and actually hit was he was supposed to. It was almost hard to believe, he didn't actually think he was truly capable of doing so.

"One down." Jimin smiled, his eyes crinkling up as he observed the overjoyed expression on Jungkook's face. "Three more to go."

Jungkook nodded once, exhaling and brushing his hands off on his jeans.

"I've got this." He answered. "I'm going to make you talk, Jimin,"

Jimin wasn't sure what it was that bubbled in his chest as he stared at the younger boy, but it was so warm, washing over his body and forcing a smile onto his face. All he really wanted to do was forget about all of this training, forget about the heist for now, and just lunge at Jungkook and embrace him.

Maybe, that would come later though, because all he said was;

"I bet you will."
