THE TITANIC WAS SAILING STEADILY in the dead of night. The weather was as frigid as could be, yet there was nearly no wind, leaving a flat calm to settle over the ocean. Above, in the sky, stars could be seen - faithful as ever to their service in the sky.

Laughter ran out towards the front of the ship as Josephine and Jack emerged from a shut door, hand in hand. They had nearly been caught by two workers that were searching for them, meaning the pair had been forced to quickly dress and run out the side of the car in hopes of not being caught.

"They almost found us!" Josephine laughed, her hair flying behind her as Jack twirled her around jokingly.

"Did you see those guys' faces?" he asked with a loud laugh.

"They were certain that they had found us," Josephine snickered as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Did you see them?" Jack repeated with the softest smile followed by a small laugh.

She took a moment to observe the way he laughed, carefree and with our joy. She could not imagine feeling happier with anyone else as she felt with Jack at that moment. Her right hand moved to touch his lips, which slowly ceased his laughter.

"Remember when I said last night had been the best night of my life?" she asked him.

  "Yeah," Jack nodded.

"I was wrong," she told him before breaking into a grin "this has been the best night by far."

The corners of Jack's eyes crinkled as he smiled at her, his own arms going around her waist and pulling her body closer to his. It was incredible how these short hours with him had been able to chase away her woes and replace them with feelings of hope that had been lacking as of late. Josephine did not bear any grievances in mind as she watched him smile at her - and she knew that she never wanted to leave him.

"Jack, when this ship docks I'm getting off with you," she told him seriously.

"You're certain?" he asked, not wishing to get his hopes up prematurely.

"I am," she spoke with a small laugh "I haven't been sure of many things in my life - but for the first time, I think I'm seeing everything clearly. I'm not leaving this ship if it isn't with your hand in mine."

"This is crazy!" Jack laughed, but his actions contrasted his words as he pulled her closer.

"It doesn't make any sense," Josephine agreed " but someone once told me that sometimes the most insane things are the ones we should trust. And I believe that now more than ever; because I'm following my heart above anything else."
