Colson went home on the 29th and started planning out everything. He sat at the table and started looking for places to go on dates. He wasn't going to lie, he wasn't good at romance stuff. But he did try his hardest
He sighed as he leaned back into his chair. It was a few days before Halloween, and he wanted the day they became an official couple to be on a good day.
"You okay dad?" Cassie asked. She just walked into the kitchen to grab a snack.
"Yeah, just planning something for Jaden and me. How was school?" She sat down across from him at the long dining table.
"It was okay I guess, I tried out for volleyball though," she sighed. "So what are you gonna do with Jaden?"
Colson sighed and pushed his laptop around, "That's my problem! I don't know what I'm doing." He slumped further into his seat.
"How about you take him to a dinner, and then maybe something he likes after or before," she suggested.
Colson shrugged, "Simple, I like it. Thanks munchkin," he smiled.
"No problem, and if you are gonna ask him to be your boyfriend, just keep it simple. I want you to be happy dad," she looked at her father in his eyes. He broke out into a smile and wiped the small tears trickling out of his eyes.
"I raised you well darling," he cried. She went over and hugged him. "Also, good for you for trying out for volleyball," he patted her back.
SO HERE WAS COLSON, WAITING OUTSIDE OF THE SCHOOLS GATE WITH FLOWERS AND A SMALL BOX. Cassie had gone with him to pick out a small bracelet for Jaden. Colson loved the fact that his daughter took a liking to Jaden. He smiled as he played with the string of the roses.
Jaden walked out of the gate, dressed simply but slightly fancy. He had a white button-down shirt, that was tucked, with some black chinos, and white air forces with long white socks. He didn't have too much jewelry on, but he did have some silver rings on. Colson's mind went blank when he saw how good Jaden looked.
"Hey," Jaden simply said.
Colson choked on his words, he was so damn nervous to speak. "Uh--H-hey," he mentally cursed himself.
Jaden smiled fondly, "You look great Kells."
"You look--wow!" Colson exclaimed. Jaden smiled and walked closer to Colson, he placed his hand on his face and pulled him in closer. Jaden placed his lips on Colson's and softly caressed his cheek.
Jaden pulled away and looked at the faint blush on Colson's face. "Are these my flowers?" He asked, pointing to the beautiful black bouquet of flowers.
Colson nodded vigorously, "Yeah, Nessa said you liked these kinds of flowers," he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Aww thanks," Jaden grabbed the flowers from his hands. Jaden also noticed the small box in Colson's hands. Colson looked at what Jaden was looking at and then his eyes went wide.
"I-I got you one more thing," he said. He felt so dumb being this nervous over something that seemed so small. He opened the small box revealing the small, silver bracelet. Cassie picked it because she always saw Jaden wearing silver jewelry. The bracelet also had two small charms on it. A 'J' for Jaden and a 'C' for Colson. Cassie thought it was cute and simple, nothing too flashy since she figured Jaden wasn't that much of a flashy person.
Jaden looked at it in awe, "Kells, this-- is amazing," he expressed fondly.
Colson blushed, "You can thank Case for it, she picked it out because I couldn't think of anything," Colson began to ramble, "Shit I just goofed didn't I?" He asked. Jaden laughed lightly at the older man's nervousness.
