In Germany, Loki and Elaine caused a distraction by disrupting a gala at a large museum while Hawkeye, along with a few men, raids a secure installation for Iridium. Elaine struck terror into the hearts of guests by securing the one thing needed for Hawkeye to breach the security measures: Heinrich Schafer's eyeball. Loki and Elaine, disguised in Midgardian clothes, attacked Schafer as Elaine grabbed the man and flipped him onto a bench, then used a special device to saw into Schafer's eyeball, allowing Barton access to steal the Iridium.
The couple strode out after the screaming crowd into the streets where Loki made several copies of himself, trapping the people and demanding that they kneel before them. As they looked upon the humans cowering in fear at his power, Loki could only laugh at those he deemed lesser than himself. Elaine bragged that this was man's purpose to be ruled.
"Kneel before us!" Loki said.
"He said... Kneel!" Elaine yelled.
"Is not this simpler? Is this not your natural state? It's the unspoken truth of humanity that you crave subjugation!" he laughed.
"The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for power. For identity. You were made to be ruled. In the end-" she said.
"You will always kneel!" he completed and winked at her.
An old man stood up "Not to people like you!"
"There are no people like us" Elaine grinned.
"There are always people like you" the man said and faded Elaine's grin.
"Look to your elder, people, let him be an example" Loki said as he blasted some energy from the scepter to the man, but a tall, muscular man with blue tights blocked the blast with his shield, the blast back and Loki fell down.
"You know the last time, I was in Germany, I saw a man standing above everybody else, we ended up disagreeing" Captain said.
"This soldier, the man out of time" Elaine said as she walked to Loki.
"I am not the one who's at time" Captain said.
Seconds later, an armed Quinjet carrying the Black Widow challenged the couple from the sky. Elaine fired a bolt of energy at the Quinjet, missing and Captain America threw his shield at her. Loki and Elaine engaged in a brief but brutal battle with the super-soldier, during which the couple gained the upper hand and stood above the Captain, demanding him to kneel; Cap refused and continued fighting them.
Just as the couple once again gained the upper hand and began beating Captain America into submission, they were interrupted by the arrival of a man in an armor and rock music playing in the background, who shot Loki and Elaine in the chest and threatened to fire all his weapons upon Loki and Elaine, daring them to make a move.
Realising that the Avengers had been assembled and they were now outmatched, they allowed themselves to be captured, Loki used his magic to remove his and Elaine's armor. As the Avengers took them into custody, they secretly began plotting how to use this situation to their advantage in the end.
As they journeyed to the Helicarrier on board the Quinjet, Loki and Elaine sat in silence while Ironman and Captain America discussed what their plans could be and why they had allowed themselves to be captured so easily.
'You said that Thor will arrive, where is he, love?'
'I said 'he may come', you gave Frigga some messages, now wait!'
Thunder filled the sky, it made Elaine flinch, she looked at Loki with hopeful eyes "What's the matter? Scared of a little lighting?" Captain asked.
"I am not overly fond of what follows" Loki said.
As predicted, Thor arrived and extracted Loki and Elaine from the jet and the Avengers' custody. Taking them to a nearby mountain where they were observed by Hugin and Munin, Thor attempted to reason with the couple "Where's the tesseract?" Thor asked.
"I missed you too" Loki chuckled as he laid on the floor with Elaine.
"Do I look to be in gaming mood?" Thor growled.
"With the bifrost gone, how much dark energy did the All father had to muster to conjure you here? Your precious earth!" Elaine sassed as she got up "Oh! You got your eyebrows done!"
The couple and Thor continued arguing but when Thor grabbed Loki by his collar someone-took him away.
"Listen brother and Lady Elaine-" Elaine had seen this coming she backed off.
"Incoming!"
Ironman took with him, Elaine did a small goodbye "I am listening!" Loki smiled.
"Oh stop it!" she laughed.
