When the King and the Queen of Vanheim had a child it was a joyous day for all, the palace was decorated with flowers and silver, rulers of different realms came to enjoy the day. Feasts and parties, children running across the halls, ladies dancing and singing, men eating and drinking like animals. The King and the Queen stood up with their newborn, silence surrounded the great halls of the palace.

"Is it a boy?" one asked.

"Is it a girl?" asked another.

"It is the future queen of our kingdom!" cheered the King, everyone cheered with him.

"Tell them her name" The Queen said.

"Her name is.." King said, suspense formed inside the hall "Elaine!" he said, the crowd cheered again.

Everyone danced, got drunk and ate happily, little Elaine didn't like this type of climate so she fell asleep, King and the Queen slow danced, the others joined them slowly. It was a happy day for everyone, King distributed golds and silvers to the poor, they donated clothes and food.

Later in the afternoon, when the Queen laid little Elaine in her cradle but something was off. Even though little Elaine was asleep but her mother sensed something. The Queen having the power of sounds, listened carefully to the surrounding and quickly grabbed her child from the cradle and held her close to her chest and wept.

The King entered the chamber "Wh-What happened, my love?" he reached to her, holding her shoulder gently to lift her up but The Queen just kept crying.

"My child! My child!" she cried.

"What happened? Tell me!" he demanded but the poor mother couldn't do anything but let her sorrow out in tears.

Hearing this the midwife came in "Your majesty, is something wrong?"

"Her heart-it just- It just stopped beating!" stammered the Queen as she cried.

"Don't you understand, woman? Your child can become the future ruler of this kingdom" The King said.

The King and The Queen were in a small cottage, cloaked in normal clothes. With them were their most trusted guard and a couple. The wife just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who looked somewhat same to the child the Queen had, the kingdom only saw their baby wrapped in a blanket so the face didn't matter much but just to be on the safe side the guard brought them there.

"No! She's my child!" the woman protested.

"Ours, sweetheart!" her husband gritted his teeth "I'll make her agree, your majesty" he took her to the corner and spoke softly "We are poor, we need money and they are offering us loads of gold and silver. Can you even imagine how rich we can be by just giving this burden away?"

"No! I don't even want to think of doing such filthy thing! She is my child and I don't want any gold or silver, I only want and need my child"

"Enough! This is my house and I am giving this burden to them" the husband snatched the girl and went to The Royal couple but his steps stopped.

"You can't have her!" The wife had stabbed him. She grabbed the child and escaped.

"Give her to me!" The Queen shouted.

"Over my dead body!" the mother shouted back.

"So be it"

Running through the woods the mother and the child found a very small cottage, the mother thought to seek shelter. The cottage was tiny, looked old and was probably empty but the mother refused to go in. She turned to leave but was stopped by probably the oldest lady one could imagine.

"This child will only bring darkness;" the old lady said, her eyes were white, her hair looked dirty.

"No! Don't say that!"

"where ever she'd go, it'd become ruins;

her powers will be opposite of her nature

and she shall receive hate."

"THERE!" before the mother could react to the old lady, she heard the guard.

"Help me!" she begged to the old lady.

"I can't"

~~~~~~~~~~
"Where did you bury her?" asked The Queen wiping blood drops of her new child's body.
"In the spot I found her, in the forest" The Guard.
"Thank you, Arthur" The King said "You did a lot good today"
