Chapter 6

Violets POV

I haven't seen Lorraine since Ed snapped at her and dragged her into the house and I was starting to get a bit worried about her.

I ran inside the house and I saw Ed in the kitchen.

"Where's Lorraine?" I ask in a demanding tone

"She's in the room.." He said, finishing his red wine and then going back to the 'party'

I knocked on the door but she didn't answer so I went in anyway and closed the door behind me.

"Lorraine? Are you ok?" I ask, sitting beside her.

She got up, her hair was in her face and her icy blue eyes were swollen from the crying. I pushed her hair back and wiped her tears and gave her a hug.

I looked at her and smiled at her, hoping it would cheer her up.

"Lorraine - this is happening because you're blaming yourself for everything that goes wrong. You need to stop, you're an amazing woman and it sucks seeing you cry. You need to stop." I said, but she started crying even more.

I rolled eyes and stood up.

"Lorraine I'm trying to help you - please cooperate because if you want help - you need to put in an effort, act your age and not shoe size!" I snapped and walked out of the room and slammed the door behind me.

I walked back outside to where the party was and everyone was having a blast - except Lorraine, who was acting like a 5 year old.

I went over to where they were serving the food and grabbed a paper plate and dug right in.

"Where's Lorraine?" Camilla said, with a mouthful of salad.

"Room" I said, not making eye contact.

I devoured my food and then waited a good 30 minutes before jumping into the pool with Andrea - who was 2 years younger than me.

I turned and looked at the sliding door that led to the backyard and saw Lorraine leaning on the frame, tears streaming down her face, she was staring at me. She looked so disappointed.

I looked at her and shrugged my shoulders, smiled and then carried on swimming with Andrea and Nancy.

Then I looked back - she was gone - but not back inside, she was with Camilla, dancing with her.. She looked happy all of a sudden. She saw me staring and then gave me a death glare and carried on dancing with Cam.

<Lorraine's POV>

Violet and Ed totally lost it with me for some reason - but whatever. I decided that sitting in my rooms and crying wasn't going to help me. I made my way outside and I heard my favorite song playing, it was also Camillas favorite - so we started dancing to it. I saw Violet starring at me - so I shot her a death glare and carried on dancing with Cam. Carolyn soon joined in, we all loved the song. Roger came out with a tray of shots and so did Ed. I grabbed one off of Eds tray and took it. I promised only one.. But everyone knew that I couldn't keep promises.

By the end of that hour, I had taken about 7 shots, Carolyn only took 2, she hated drinking in front of her kids, especially after the incident. Camilla was wrecked, she took about 8 and she was hanging over a tanning bed. I was feeling a bit tipsy, but I could still dance.

"Cindy, Nancy, Christine, and April!" Carolyn called

"Girls, it's getting late and mommy and daddy are a bit tipsy so we can't drive, we're spending the night here, it's 10, go to bed girls.. It's already too late for you to be up." She said

The girls obeyed her and went to the guest room, Andrea stayed because she was 18 and old enough.

I signaled Ed to come to me, even though I was still mad at him.

"Please carry Camilla to the other guest room." I said, not making eye contact. He agreed and took her.

It was just me, Violet, Ed, Andrea, Roger and Carolyn left, Ed pulled me into a quiet place.

"My baby, I'm sorry for snapping and hurting you." He said, playing with my nose, I couldn't help it.. My nose was my weakness.

"You are forgiven, Sir Warren." I laughed and kissed him, he then picked me up and carried me to the pool.

"Ed no!" I laughed, kicking and trying to wiggle out of his arms. "No Ed don't!!" I laughed

He totally ignored me, and next thing I know, I was under water and he was still holding onto me. I brought my head up and took a breath. And then Ed came up and kissed me. I noticed Violet smiling from the other end of the pool.
