Shehzad

A recurring nightmare. That's what it felt like. It was like waking up every night with the same bad dream, unable to stop.

When I heard about the shooting in which Bee had been a central character, a victim, I'd felt like I had been reliving such a nightmare. I pinched myself, as if trying to wake myself up.

Sobia. My wife. Another undeserving person.

I slammed a fist against the steering wheel as I drove like a maniac. "If anything happens to Sobia, I'll set the city on fire!" I yelled to myself.

The tyres of my car made a screeching noise as I sharply turned a corner. A chorus of car horns rang out around me as I overtook multiple cars in a rush to get to the BeeWrite office.

"I AM NOT LOSING ANYONE ELSE!" I felt like my mind was going to snap as tears blurred my vision. I knew that I shouldn't be driving in this state, but I was in no mood to waste anytime. I had to get to Bee ASAP.

And as I turned onto the road where her office was located, I couldn't drive any further as police cars and ambulances were blocking the road. I got out the car, slamming my door shut.

"SOBIA!" I yelled out, attempting to push through the blockade set up by the police officers.

"Stop!" A bulky policeman with a thick moustache stopped me. "You can't go further, sir!"

"My wife is there! Let me go!" I glared at him, trying to peek over the cars and people. "Sobia!"

My mind was starting relive the nightmare of the night Bhai got attacked. That same fear, that same despair. "Let me go. I need to see my wife." I tried to remain calm, but it took me my full strength not to reach out and tug hard at his moustache to cause him enough pain to get out of my way. "JUST F***ING TELL ME IF SHE'S OKAY!"

"Calm down otherwise we know how to deal with hot-blooded youngsters like you." The policeman growled at me.

I raised an eyebrow at him. "You have any idea who you are threatening? I can have your employment terminated in minutes, Mr Officer of the Law. Now step aside and let me through. I need to see my wife."

"Sobia is okay."

I turned and was surprised to see Rohail walking towards me from the direction of his car. "How do you know?"

"She's safely inside the building with Rabail. My sister confirmed." Rohail told me. "The bikers did try to shoot her, but the guard of BeeWrite shot him instead. Sobia was just startled and fell onto the ground, but she's okay overall."

I felt so weak with relief that my legs always gave way under me. I ran both my hands through my hair and turned in the direction of the BeeWrite office. "They targeted her as well."

"We don't even know who it was yet, Shehzad." Rohail spoke quietly.

I turned to look at him. "We're both smart enough to realise that this can't be just a random shooting, Rohail. You are well aware of my family history by now."

He placed a hand on my shoulder. "Well, Sobia is okay. Don't worry."

For now. I had no idea how much more I could take.

"Here you go." Rabail handed me a cup of tea. "As Sheldon Cooper says, if someone's upset offer them tea."
