Third Person POV

As Saint drove back to his and Perth's condo unit, with his trunk full of the groceries that he had bought from the supermarket, he started to question himself whether he had made a wise decision in accepting Joss' offer to treat him to a movie and to dinner afterwards. But then again, Saint told himself that he needed to have a little break. He had been cooped up in their unit for the last few days. He had been lonely and had waited patiently for Perth to return from Amanda's birthday party the other night. Maybe it was time to give himself a little bit of entertainment.

"Whoa!" Perth exclaimed when he saw Saint bringing in all the heavily loaded grocery bags. "Did you buy the whole supermarket?"

"There was so much that we needed to replace," Saint explained. "If I could bring the whole supermarket I would."

"I'm not complaining," Perth said with a smile.

"How did your therapy session go?" Saint asked.

"I did some additional knee strengthening exercises," Perth replied.

"That's what Tae told me he would do today," Saint remarked. "So what do you think? Have the additional exercises helped you?"

In answer to Saint's question, Perth stood up from his wheelchair and walked towards Saint. The walk was at least a six feet walk.

"Whoa! Whoa! Careful there now!" Saint exclaimed as Perth wobbled near the end.

Saint steadied him and then held Perth's waist as they both walked back to Perth's wheelchair.

"So much for showing off," Perth chuckled.

"Don't get discouraged. I can tell you're getting very close to your goal of walking independently again," Saint said. "Do you have any suggestions for lunch?"

"It depends on what ingredients are available," Perth replied as he watched Saint unloading the newly bought groceries.

When Perth saw some avocados and cucumbers being laid on the kitchen counter by Saint, he said, "I know what! Why don't we make ourselves a tuna avocado sub? We can make a side salad with those fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. I will help cut up the tomatoes and cucumbers."

"That sounds great to me." Saint agreed, already setting aside the ingredients mentioned by Perth while putting away the rest of the groceries in their individual allotted places.

Perth stood up from his wheelchair and sat himself on a kitchen stool and started cutting up some onions, making them into onion rings. Then he went on to cut the tomatoes.

"Ow!" Because cutting the onions had made him teary eyed he could not see properly where he was cutting and before he knew it his index finger was trickling with blood.

"Oh, no, Perth!" Saint exclaimed quickly running to the bathroom to fetch the first aid kit from behind the bathroom mirror.

When Saint rushed back to Perth he saw Perth's face streaming with tears.

"I shouldn't have made you cut the onions," Saint said, quickly grabbing a box of tissues from one corner of the kitchen counter. He pulled out a tissue and started dabbing Perth's cheeks dry.

Suddenly Perth grabbed the back of Saint's neck and pulled it down and planted a kiss on Saint's lips.

Saint pulled back. "We need to take care of your cut," he said.

"It can wait," Perth declared. "Let's go to the bedroom."

"No, Perth," Saint said stubbornly. "I don't want you getting an infection from that cut."

Perth made a face as Saint unlatched the lid of the first aid kit and sprayed some wound wash on a gauze before dabbing it on Perth's cut finger. Then he applied a small amount of triple antibiotic ointment on the cut before applying a dry dressing that came with adhesive edges.

"If you're uncomfortable cutting the rest of the ingredients, I can do them myself," Saint said.

"No, no, no," Perth protested. "It's not a problem at all. And thank you for treating my wound. Thankfully it's just a wound on my finger. It will heal quickly. If it were a wound on my heart, I don't think I would ever heal."

Saint's thoughts suddenly flew to the movie and dinner treat that Joss had offered him.

Saint decided that he would call Joss after lunch to tell him that the movie and dinner was not going to take place after all.
