A/N: The image above does not belong to me. It belongs to the person who uploaded it on the internet.

Also, I didn't want Amanda to remain a faceless character, so I chose the image of Thai actress Primrose Chindavanich. For those who don't know her, she played the role of Aim in Lovesick the series.

Amanda's POV

I was driving home after a shopping spree at the mall when I heard a loud crash on the opposite lane.

Fuck, I just hate it whenever some dumbass motorist gets into an accident because he instantly causes a traffic jam which is what's happening right now.

Wait, no, that can't be... That can't be Perth's car. Or is it?

Oh shit, that IS Perth being loaded into the ambulance. I must find a way out of this traffic jam and follow that ambulance.

There was no way that I would be able to follow that ambulance.

I turned into the first available corner street.

I knew that most paramedics bring their patients to the nearest emergency room, so I figured that since Bangkok Community Hospital was the nearest hospital in the vicinity, I decided to drive there first.

It took me a while to find a parking spot in the hospital parking lot. I had to park at the farthest end of the parking lot where I was lucky to find the only available parking spot.

I sprinted towards the hospital lobby and spoke with the receptionist. I gave the receptionist the name of Perth. I lied that I was a family member so that I would be given quick access to Perth's recovery room. Well, technically, I was family because I almost married Perth, and if I got lucky, I would marry him again.

After an eternity of waiting in the reception area, the receptionist called out my name. I was told that Perth was in Room 315.

I thanked the receptionist and took an elevator to the third floor. I cursed when I realized that I had made a turn on the wrong corridor. Room 315 was on the opposite corridor.

I made my way back, and after passing several doors, I found Room 315.

I knocked softly and when no one answered, I slowly turned the door knob and walked into the room.

I felt my tears filling my eyes  when I saw Perth lying on his hospital bed, his eyes closed, a thick bandage covering his left temple and his left leg in a cast.

I slowly walked over to him and took his hand, gently running my thumb over it while squeezing it gently with my other fingers.

Perth must have felt it because his eyes fluttered open.

"S...Saint?" I heard him ask.

I immediately felt a combination of jealousy and resentment, but I put on a bright smile and a cheery tone.

"No, honey, it's me, Amanda!" I said, bending forward so he could see my face more clearly.

"Wha... Amanda! What are you doing here?" Perth didn't sound too happy to see me.

"Well, you're welcome very much for being the first to come and see you right after your accident! I'm very pleased to see you, too!" I tried not to make the resentment too obvious in my tone but I definitely wanted him to feel the sarcasm in my words.

Perth closed his eyes once more.

"Thank you for coming to see me, Amanda," he said after a long silence, "I would like to be alone at this time, please."

I heaved a deep sigh.

"Don't worry, Perth, I will be on my way after a little while. I just need to be in your company for just a few minutes, please. I haven't seen you in ages. I have missed you so much," I tried not to make my voice sound too desperate.

Perth did not respond to what I said. He continued to stay silent, with his eyes tightly closed.

I wondered if I should drop the bomb on him. Maybe if I did, that would make him react to my presence at least, instead of just lying there like a corpse.

"Perth, your father might want to know that my dad will be opening a new business and it will be in direct competition with your father's business," I announced in a nonchalant manner.

There, that made him open his eyes and look directly at me.

I felt some shivers running down my spine at the icy cold stare that he gave me.

"Listen, Amanda," he began, "your father......"

Perth was not able to finish his sentence. There was a brief knock on the door and Perth's mother walked in.

I ran to her and hugged her tight.

"Mom!" I exclaimed, ignoring Saint who was standing right behind Perth's mom.
