EPISODE 3

MAR'S POV...
"I really love this restaurant. They serve the best seafood in the whole of Lagos." I said as we were seated in the 5star restaurant having lunch. Kate sipped her drink and carefully dropped the glass. "I really love this place too. It doesn't have a second to me." She said picking up her phone. "Yeah, i wanted showing you guys these shoes i saw online, do you think i should order them?" She asked handing over the phone to me. I collected the phone and take a look at the shoes, they were really nice.
Her phone begin ringing while in my hands. It's Steve, written boldly on the screen. I kept the phone on the table and stared at her. "Are you still seeing Steve?" I asked with a serious face. She was looking suspicious already. "No, i am not seeing him." She replied briefly. Jenny giggled and face her. "Then why are you still having his contact Kate? It has been a week since his party. It should be over between you." She said giving Kate a curious look. Kate sighed and sipped her drink. She was sweating a bit. "Common guys. I was occupied with school and forget to block him. Let me do that right now." She said picking up the phone.
We all stared at her as she was on the phone for a while. "Done!" She said keeping the phone on the table. Kate was looking suspicious. I starred at her for a while. I noticed a change in her behaviors recently after Steve's party but i don't want to suspect her. I sighed and sipped my drink again. "I hope you guys all value the reason we are in this. We must all believe that we are not Men's toys." I said looking at them. I was still talking when a waiter walked to our table with a receipt.
"Good afternoon miss." He greeted looking at Yesmin. "Afternoon. Can we help you?" She asked looking at him. He moved a bit closer to her and offered her a card. "One of the guys over there paid your bills and wanted me to give you this card." He said pointing at the guys who were sitting comfortably on their table acting cool. You can tell from a look that its just a clique of rich kids spending their parents money.
Yesmin collected the card and starred at it for a while before bursting into laugh. She laughed so hard that she nearly chocked. "The card look so cheap!" She said and we all laughed. They were starring at us as we laughed hard. "It's their guts for me, paying our bills. Did we look that cheap to them?” I asked still laughing. Jenny cleared her throat a bit. "I think i know what we should do girls. We should pay their bills and also order another set of what they just had. That is enough to tell them that we are out of their league." She said looking at us.
We all agreed on the idea and call the attention of other waiters immediately. I asked for their bill and also made another order for them. I transferred the money immediately and sit back to watch what will happen next. We continued chatting while eating. One of those guys suddenly walked to our table. "That was a brave act. I love it." He said looking at Yesmin. None of us talked to him as we continued chatting. "Can i have the pleasure of getting your contact, young lady?" He asked Yesmin again. At this point, she was already pissed off as she stood up and poured her drink on him. "That's my signatory contact." She said looking at him.
He was too shocked to say a word or do a thing. One of the guys quickly rushed and raised his hands on Yesmin, but the other hold back his hand. "I dare you idiot, you wouldn't have seen peace in your life again." She said as we picked up our stuffs and leave the scene.
JENNY'S POV...
I quickly got ready for school because i was about being late. I got dressed hurriedly and picked up my bag. "Shit! I can't wait for an uber." I said as i picked up my bag and head out. Luckily, i got a taxi immediately when i stepped out so i took it to school. Seems like there are alot of passengers waiting for a cab. A man kept on waiving at the driver as we approached him.
"Madam, do you mind we pick this man up?” The driver asked. "Yes, seems his car is broken down. Let's wait and hear him out." I said concentrating on my phone. The driver slowly parked the car by the road and the man rushed to the driver's side. "Oga, can you please drop me along the university, my car just developed a fault." He said pleading. The driver nodded his head. "Sure, you can join, i am going that way too." He replied trying to open the car.
I slowly raised my head to see the person and behold, it's my lecturer, Mr Greg. "This is surely my chance to revenge." I said to myself. "Close that car driver. I don't share my ride." I shouted looking at him. He starred at me trying to recall my face but seems he has forgotten it. I am pleased anyways, the Mr. Right will surely be late for class today. I bubbled the gum in my mouth looking at him as the car zoomed off.
I arrived school and decided to branch at the cafeteria. I know it will take a while before Mr.Greg gets a car and come to class, i could use the free time to eat, by the way i am so hungry. I ordered for chips and tea. After a while, i finished eating and head to class. I already know i am in trouble since when i approached the lecture hall and couldn't find anyone outside, seems everyone is in the class and there was no sign of noises or movements. "I just hope its not Greg in the class." I prayed as i tiptoed into the lecture hall from the door behind.
"Get out of my class!” He shouted from the podium. I quickly turned to leave when he called me back. "What have you done Jenny?" I asked myself as i sluggishly walked to the podium. He moved closer to the stand and faced the whole class. "You see, home training is very rare these days, it's not expected to be seen everywhere." He said looking at the class. He adjusted his tie and face me. "Use the main door and leave my class, stop sneaking be around like a thief." He said pointing at the door. I sluggishly walked out of the class looking embarrassed. "Does he always have to be this idiot?” I asked myself as i head back to the hostel.
I sighed deeply as i laid on my bed. "What happened to you? Why are you back so early?" Mars asked looking at me. I turned slowly and faced her. "That jerk stopped me from entering the class." I replied looking pissed off. She smiled and closed the book she was reading. "What have you done this time?” She asked giving me a suspiciously look. I sighed as i sat up and narrate the incidence to her. "He doesn't needs to be such a jerk." I said with a sad face.
Mars sighed as she walked over to my bed. She sat near me and wrapped her hands around my shoulders. "You see Jenny, this your hatred for this guy won't yeild anything good. Just stay out of his business and that will be fine. I have seen alot of love Stories that started from hating each other, and believe me my dear, it always ends in premium tears. Men shouldn't be our priority for now. Be independent and we will later deal with the shit in them. You don't want to be the next victim in your family after what happened to your sister." She said looking at me.
At this point, i became speechless as i remembered Diana, my only sister. I started weeping silently as i remembered how miserable her life was. How she was blinded with love. How this love makes her suffer to her grave. "This gender are as heartless as stones." I said looking at Mars. She hugged me and comforted me for a while. "It's Okay Jenny, we are here to change the story." She said still hugging me...
KATE'S POV...
I stood by the door as i over heard Mars and Jenny's conversation. My heart was racing and i was sweating seriously. I personally didn't have a reason for hating men at first, just that i couldn't stand seeing my friends going through such pains. But then, I don't know what's going on between Steve and i these days. He always call, send text messages, visit me at school and all sort of stuffs. "I must end what ever it is today before i get more aqquinted to him.
I quickly picked up my phone from the bag and text him. "I am heading to your house." I sent the message immediately and head to his house. He was already parking in his compound as my cab arrived. He was looking worried as he rushed and hold my hands. "Are you alright Kate? What's with the sudden call?" He asked looking at me. I starred at him for a while as i walked into the house. I sat on the sofa looking so tensed.
"I can't continue this Steve. I actually don't know what to call this our relationship but i am sure I won't continue it. I don't want to be the first person to break the group's rule." I said looking at him. He sighed deeply as he moved closer to me. "Call it love. It's called love Kate. I am sure you love me just the way i love you." He said looking at me.
I starred into his eyes for a while, they look so pure. I quickly moved my face because i can't bear looking at him again. "I don't love you Steve. let's just end this peacefully." I said said with a shaky voice. He slowly grabbed my hands and hold them. "Stop lying to your self Kate. I am sure you love me. I am ready to keep this a secret till the time you want to open up to your friends. Let's be together, i promise to make you happy Kate." He said holding my hands.
I slowly removed my hands from his. "I don't want to hurt your feelings Steve. I don't want to start what we cant finish. Don't even try to contact me again because it is over and it will never work. I don't want to be tagged a traitor." I said as i stood up and head out.  He quickly ran after me and hugged me tightly from behind. I can hear the sound of his heart beating so fast and tears rolling on his face. "Don't leave me Kate. Please don't." He said crying.
I was about talking when my phone beeped. Its a message from Mars. I opened it quickly. "Code 111!" It's an emergency code. "What the fuck!" I shouted as i forcefully dragged my self from Steve's grab and head back to the hostel...
