I love track, when I'm done running the burn in my legs is a happy feel, the pounding in my chest feels wonderful. With these wonderful feelings comes the bad ones though. The pulled muscles the next day, the coughing from running in cold weather but most of all the embarrassment if you suck. Ehem, all fingers should be pointed at me seeing how I'm the queen of embarrassment. There is the time when we first started to try the discus, our coach, Mr.Hein, had us try throwing a cone first. Ya, I don't know how I managed but ended up cutting my finger. Oops! Then there is the 200 meter dash( 1/8 a mile), they had four girls start off. I knew I was doomed from the start though because I was up against two basketball players and a cross country runner. I have never done a sport before by the way. Um, well I got got 38 seconds which isn't to bad but I got last in my group. I beat some cross country runners so that felt good though. Then we did the 400 meter.(1/2 mile) I got first in my group! I was doing horrible to start out with but the about half way point I started to pick up speed and slowly passed everyone. I finished about 15 seconds before everyone else. I was ecstatic!!! I couldn't stop jumping up and down from excitement and the pain in my chest. Everyone was starring at we jumping around. It was hilarious. I finished in 1:38. Now I am writing this right now laying on my bed after practice. My head is pounding, my throat hurts and my legs are stinging but all I can think about is how I want to go back tomorrow.
