SPATIAL JUMPING?
╚══ஓ๑♡๑ஓ══╝
My ears perked up the slight bit as I heard a pair of familiar shoes hitting the floor from before,
"Oh, a friend has joined you. Have you decided on anything yet?" the waitress smiled as she looked at my new acquaintance.
I guess.
"Oh, um . . . " I stalled, I hadn't gotten the chance to go through the menu since this kid had arrived and just plainly distracted me. I acted fast, looking down to the menu as my eyes quickly found the beverage section,
"Strawberry milkshake for me, please." I said as calm as I could, it was the first item my eyes could land on,
"Okay . . . One strawberry milkshake . . . How about you?" the woman spoke, writing my order on her notepad before the turned to the boy,
"Coffee. Black." he bluntly spat, no emotion behind his cold words, not even a smile or please. I frowned.
The woman's brows furrowed a bit as she slowly turned her head to me, "Uh, please." I softly said, kicking the boy's leg under the table which earned a small yet noticeable grunt from him.
". . . I'll be with you two soon then." the woman said, quickly turning on her heels as she hesitantly took the menu away.
Now that she was out of sight my full attention turned to the mysterious boy infront of me, he looked unfazed as my eyes landed on his. He kept his straight posture and intertwined hands on the table.
"Who . . . Are you?" I started with slight hesitation, he glanced sideways. My brows stayed furrowed, trying to read his face for any understandable emotion.
"Five." he said quietly, he seemed to be stuck in his thoughts. My face scrunched up a bit,
"Five what?" I said, confused on why he had just said an odd number out of nowhere. His eyes glistened in the dim lighting as they were on mine again,
"Five Hargreeves."
Oh.
That's his name. I smiled at him, suppressing a small laugh,
"Your name is Five?" I said in thought, my mind then went over his name. Hargreeves sounded extremely familiar, like I've heard or seen it somewhere.
"Yes, it is my name. What's your's then?" he said curiously, his body leaning a bit more forward, I liked his name. It was quite abstract.
"I'm Y/N L/N. " I said as blunt as I could, "That's a pretty name." Five whispered, I huffed, grinning a bit as his words.
"I like your name too, I've never met anyone named Five before." he looked away as the words left my mouth, seemingly embarrassed.
The familiar sound of heels came closer again, a tall glass of milkshake came in front of my vision as the waitress placed it down.
"Thank you." I said with a beaming smile, reaching in my bag to pull out my purse, I then took out a couple of dollars and set it in her hand.
Guess I'm paying for this shit gremlin too.
"Hope this covers it." I said, glancing from Five to the woman, "It's just enough. Thank you, dear."
Then she disappeared again.
I took a sip from my drink, my eyes subconsciously drifting towards Five, "Y'know. It's normally the guy who pays for the date." I joked, he looked up at me, now scowling in annoyance whereas my expression remained as smug as ever.
Shit gremlin.
"This coffee tastes like shit." was all he said. I laughed at his expression, "Well, my drink tastes just fine. " I smirked, sucking from the straw again and not allowing my eyes to leave his at all.
"Do you live around here?" I asked, he seemed like a very quiet kept together little man. "I don't know." I stared at him with confusion. How could he not know?
"How'd you get here then, by magic ?" I said jokingly, smiling between my words. His expression stayed blank as his eyes burned holes into my skull,
"Oh shit, was it magic?" I asked with shock, he shook his head with a scowl,
"No. I used my powers, dip shit." shit man, how was I supposed to know you have powers??
WAIT, HE HAS POWERS??
The expression on my face turned from sour to excited to confusion, "You . . . Have powers?" I said, he must be shitting my balls. Though, I heard Willis and Bruce have mentioned there to be these kids with special abilities. They were probably talking about some superhero game or something though.
Five looked at me seriously as he got up, walking to my side. He then looked around before he put his hand out infront of me, "Want me to show you?" he asked politely, my eyes widened as my face was still in the fate of shock. It soon turned into a warm smile as I put my hand in his, standing up myself.
He then looked to me, seemingly asking for permission with his eyes. I nodded, getting a small glimpse of a smile from the boy before a blue mist engulfed us both, making adrenaline rush through my veins a bit.
How fun.
Soon, a new scene welcomed my eyes, the stars stood in the sky as the moon was crescent and glistening in contrast to the dark night sky. I looked over to Five as our hands were still holding one another.
A headache slowly formed in my mind, making my free hand shot up to my head as I winced.
Five quickly turned to me, his face twisted in worry, "Are you okay? I'm sorry." he said, touching my face with his free hand as he faced me,
His demeanor changed fast.
". . . I'm okay, thank you. Don't worry, I'm just not . . . Use to whatever that was." I smiled at him, my hand leaving my head as he kept his on my cheek.
"It's called spatial jumping."
"Spatial jumping is amazing. This place is beautiful, Five." I said, my eyes drifting around the area. My eyes landed on the pond next to us, water lilies sprouted from within it, I started to wonder if any fish were living inside of it as well . . .
I yawned a bit, my free hand shooting up near Five's hand on my face, taking it in my own hand as I lowered it down.
"Are you tired?" he asked, his face a bit softer than it originally was,
"Just a bit."
"Want me to take you home?"
"In a bit, I just want to enjoy this freedom a little longer."
"Okay."
