NOTHING SPECIAL.

For a moment I stumbled forward, catching myself as Five still held my hand and looked me over with a worried expression. His posture was stiff and arrogant.

Once he released my hand, he stepped forward. I felt doubt ride along my myriad of thoughts in the back of my mind, I shake it all off as I let a small smile play on my face.

"What did you see at the Commission, Five?" I curiously asked, his head slowly lowered at my words. He slightly turned his head my way to give me a side glance as his lips began to part,

"The . . . the Handler she--" he cut himself off, stepping towards the bed in his room as he sat on it. He sighed heavily, my brows furrowed.

What did she do?

I slowly made my way towards him until I was completely in front of him, he looked up into my eyes from beneath me,

"She what, Five?" I softly questioned with my hands holding one another,

"She showed me this . . . vision? It was . . . It was us." I tilted my head at this, looking at his eyes as I motioned him to continue, he inhaled as he briefly glanced to the side,

"She said it was a vision of a theory, a theory of what if? What if we had never time traveled and we had stayed . . . ?" he spoke, his stare lingered on mine as his lips slightly quivered.

What if?

Such an important question, yet dangerous to linger on.

Do not overthink it.

I felt my smile falter as my hand reached out to touch his head, stroking his hair as I had the utmost interest of what he could've saw in his time of being at the Commission again . . .

"We were wedded." he smiled, "We had kids too. The kids they . . . They were twins.

Liamh and Niamh.

They looked just like you." he breathed out, his voice cracked ever so slightly as his smile was practically reaching his eyes before it dropped in an instant.

What was wrong?

. . . Kids?

. . . Twins even?

I furrowed my brows in thought, my hand stopped stroking his hair completely,

"Why did she show you?" I sternly questioned, watching his expression become more of a guilty look.

"She said if I killed you . . . Gave up on the whole idea of-- Of preventing the apocalypse then I'd have it all . . . A happy life with you." he said with a groan as he stood up, I looked at his back which faced me.

Wasn't he already happy with me as is?

"Well, that is ideal, isn't it?" I whispered loudly, my eyes still on him.

"I guess so." he softly said, looking to the ground,

"But that version of us . . . That's not us. That wasn't you. I wouldn't kill you for any other version of yourself, Y/N. I only want this version of you." he turned around, a scowl evident on his face as I could see a small smile tug on his lips.

I smiled happily as I felt myself get remotely flustered, walking up to him and pecking him on his lips as I laughed a bit in thought.

He could be really sweet when he really wants to, huh?

My steps made echoes along the hallway, Five and I were making our way towards his brother, Klaus' room.

Step.

Step.

Step.

We came to an abrupt stop at entrance way of his room, staring blankly at his brother who seemed to be struggling with a tangled ball of yarn that sat on his stomach. I grinned a bit at the scene.

I could help with that.

Five sighed as he knocked on the door, entering the room as he dragged me along,

"Hey. Get up. We're going." Five loudly demanded as he walked further into the room,

"Where?"

"To save the world."

"Oh, is that all? Great." Klaus disappointingly spoke, throwing the knitting pins as well as the tangled yarn off to the side as he began to groggily sit up on his bed,

"So, Pogo said Dad killed himself to get us all back together, right?"

"Yeah, so?" Klaus staggered, Five released my hand as he began to now pace.

I stood with a frown as my mind began to wonder around,

"So it got me thinking."

Obviously.

"I had to jump to the future to figure out she it happened, but Dad, he can't time travel. So how'd the crazy bastard actually know to kill himself a week before the end of the world?"

Perhaps he's an alien. Haha.

Silly thought . . .

"Well, you know . . ."

"Don't answer. That was purely rhetorical." Five sternly said as he pointed his finger at Klaus before he lowered it, looking at the now completely quiet Klaus who sighed.

"Truth is, our whole lives, he's been telling us we'd save the world from an impending apocalypse."

"Yeah, but I always thought he just said that to scare us into doing the dishes." I smirked at Klaus' reply, snickering a bit to myself at the silly thought he had just shared with us.

Klaus' lips were pulled into a thin line as he began to slip on a pair of sneakers he had pulled out from underneath his bed . . .
