When Taehyung and Jungkook arrived in the next state they would be visiting, Taehyung immediately checked them into their hotel so that they could put their belongings somewhere. "I know I said that the first day is always a rest day, but not today. Today I have an appointment," Taehyung announced hastily as he promptly worked on changing clothes. "I'll be a while so if you want to stay here and watch television, that's fine," Taehyung added tenderly, throwing sweatpants on. Jungkook tilted his head in confusion as he stared at Taehyung hastily getting ready and noticed Taehyung grab a picture of Jungkook and his bucket list. That was when Jungkook could see the severe anxiety hidden behind Taehyung's eyes as Jungkook hastily grabbed Taehyung's hand. Jungkook had finally realized why this appointment was so important to keep. "I'll go with you," Jungkook insisted lovingly, his hand clasping tighter around Taehyung's trembling hand. "Even if it takes a while. I told you I wanted to be here for you. Now you don't need that picture of me to keep you company there anymore," Jungkook added tenderly, staring up at Taehyung as the elder offered a loving smile.

"Thank you, love," Taehyung stated appreciatively, kissing Jungkook's lips before they hastily made their way towards the lobby once more. Jungkook didn't realize how close to landing Taehyung would make his appointments until they arrived at the hospital and they mentioned that Taehyung had barely made it on time. Taehyung sighed with relief as the nurse navigated Taehyung into an exam room to check everything else before sending him for his treatment. Jungkook sat solemnly beside Taehyung, still holding his hand as the nurse drew blood, checked his throat and ears, blood pressure, and temperature. Once they were able to discern that everything else was taken care of, the nurse directed Taehyung towards a silent room filled with people. Jungkook glanced around at all the tired faces that stared at them, his heart breaking for all the people that had to go through this. He glanced over at Taehyung anxiously, noticing the small empathetic smile Taehyung gave him. Jungkook felt a twinge of grief in his heart that Taehyung was trying to make him feel better when it should be the opposite way around. Although Jungkook couldn't help but stare up at Taehyung for trying to make him feel better.

Jungkook watched as the nurse beckoned Taehyung over towards one of the sheer white plush chairs and motioned for him to take a seat. Taehyung solemnly obeyed her directions, taking a seat as Jungkook grabbed a small stool and carried it over towards Taehyung's chair so as not to disturb the other patients. Jungkook couldn't watch when the nurse stuck Taehyung once again with an IV in one arm and fluid that would help maintain the spread of his cancer in the other arm. Once the nurse was done sticking the needles in Taehyung's arms, Jungkook hastily grabbed Taehyung's hand with tears in his eyes. "I'm so sorry you have to go through this," Jungkook whispered with a strained voice, trying to swallow the tears that threatened to break loose. Taehyung smiled softly at Jungkook's words before tenderly brushing Jungkook's hair behind his ear. "There's no need for you to feel sorry," Taehyung answered softly, tenderly pecking Jungkook's lips.

After an hour, the fluid had finished draining and Taehyung's face looked just as tired as the rest of the patients that had been there. Jungkook couldn't stop the tears that silently rolled down his cheeks but he hastily wiped them away before Taehyung could notice. Taehyung wearily stood to his feet as Jungkook helped to hold him steady, Taehyung offering a worn smile. "Thank you, love," Taehyung expressed appreciatively, wrapping his arm around Jungkook's neck and pulling him closer. He pressed a tender kiss against Jungkook's temple as they walked towards the exit, Taehyung tripping over his own feet sluggishly. The walk back to the hotel was fairly quiet and slow as Jungkook tried to focus more on getting Taehyung back to the hotel safely. He could tell that Taehyung was tired just from the medication as he pulled the hotel key from Taehyung's back pocket.
